Volume Four podcast schedule

Post by JaySevenZero » November 9th, 2014, 1:08 pm

As we know by now that there are those of you who like to play along with the show and like us to announce as far in advance as possible which titles we have coming up. So here's the list of the games we're covering for the next six months or so.

We would love to read about your thoughts and/or three word reviews for these forthcoming games so we can also include them within our shows.

You can contact us at Cane and Rinse via our EMAIL or FACEBOOK , through our TWITTER (all links can be found on the website) or leave them in the appropriate thread within the forum.

I'll have plenty to say on Dragon's Dogma I suspect. Likewise the Speedball series. And Chrono Trigger.

Looking forward to what you have to say about Too Human as well, I think that game has had a bit more of a kicking than it ever really deserved.

Some amazing games on there but I'm really looking forward to hearing people's thoughts on God Hand.

GOD HAND, SPELUNKY, DRAGON'S DOGMA, DIDDY KONG RACING, CHRONO TRIGGER

That was pretty much the list of games id like to see podcasts of. Smashing news. Can not wait for the god hand one and i shall write a dissertation length forum entry for it.

Is Chrono Trigger at the end of February? I played it so many years back that I really can't remember much about it but I've got an import on the way set to arrive before the end of the month to fill those (quite sure they were) good memories. I'll be playing along as you might've guessed.

Nice to see a certain game popping up in time for christmas, it'd be nice to tackle just what was missing in the revamped Christmas Nights though.

I might need to pick your brains on that subject Mike as I no longer have the Saturn version to do a direct comparison.

Thanks, I'll bring it up closer to the show but this article sums up most of what I'm getting at:

Sadly, there's precious few on that list that I have any real knowledge/experience of, so only 7 or 8 shows for me*. I guess it's unavoidable with the format of the show. Seeing the lineups makes me realise how many games/series I've never played (and most likely never will!).

Especially looking forward to Diddy Kong Racing, primarily so I can hear you all put the boot into the utterly loathsome difficulty spikes in that game. I can remember some sort of hateful octopus boss encounter almost bringing me to actual tears back in the day - I think I'm right in saying I got so furious with the game that I snapped and traded it in in a huff!

*That does raise an interesting point though - how many listeners listen to shows about games they haven't played, or never even heard of? Personally I find it hard to take an interest in those I haven't (no slight on the show at all, just my preference!).

I often listen to shows for games I've not played, more often than not it piquces my interest to give it a play. There have been a few shows I've had absolutely no interest in, but generally I listen each week.

Oops, I just had an email saying the report I filed on this thread has been deleted. Sorry! Just wanted to let you know I didn't even realise I'd done it! God knows how that happened!! I wasn't starting a ruckus haha.

Download figures are pretty consistent from week to week so I'd suggest the majority listen to every show, although of course some may be just downoading and deleting!

I work on the assumption that as I'm interested in 99% of the games we cover, others out there will feel the same way.
I'd certainly listen every week even if I had nothing to do with Cane and Rinse - unless I was avoiding spoilers for a particular title.

But yes, we never expected every listener to listen to every single issue of the podcast, although having broad tastes obviously helps in that regard!

Really looking forward the the Wolfenstein new order cast. One of the best and underrated games of the year.
I have a bad feeling that your silent hill podcasts are going to inspire me to go though them as I have never played one, though P.T. Has made me very excited for the new one.

I only listen to episodes covering a game I have played or have an interest in. There seems to be a fair amount of those this volume

Are you going to cover Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross when you do Chrono Trigger?

I suspect neither deserves their own cast what with Radical Dreamers being a curiosity that's incredibly hard to play in English (fan translation patches and so on), and Chrono Cross never quite feeling right plot wise, despite having a unique combat system and one of the best scores ever composed.

We might reference them but as we won't have completed them we won't be 'officially' covering them. It's to be a Chrono Trigger podcast.

I'm a little confused about the Wolfenstein podcasts - was Wolf 3d covered in ep 152? Sure I remember listening to it and just the original Wolfenstein was discussed.

Wouldn't Wolfenstein 3d deserve it's own episode?
