"Is Finland part of Scandinavia?" - Leon, ending 2017 on a classy note.

It does sound like you're getting a bit emotional at the end when describing Nex Machina and Housemarque's departure from the arcade genre, though. You're right, it's a damn shame.

Good episode, looking forward to next year!

Never realised how much hearing someone eating cake and having a nice sit down puts me in the Christmas mood.

Those weird characters attached to the name on that Splatoon track is the name of the fictional artist of the song in-universe. The Salmon Run tracks are done by "Omega-3", stylised as ω-3.

I'd never listened to that Splatoon piece on its own before. There is a lot more going on in there than I had realized, primarily playing that game in handheld mode.

Same here, checked out the soundtrack afterwards and now I'm gonna have to add it to the collection. The soundtracks to these games appear to be quite popular too going by the audience reaction to this performance at the Niconico Tokaigi event in Japan by the Squid Sisters

Their Splatoon 2 replacements ‘off the hook’ are doing a similar concert at this year’s event. Rumour has it the squid sisters will be a surprise support act.

This is a real thing that is happening.

So, I've never played much Virtua Fighter, so I didn't recognize that Akira/Ride the Tiger track, but I've been singing it to myself all week now. Loved it!
