“And that is how it ended.”

In this issue, Josh, Jacob, Jay and Tony wake up in the middle of an ancient ruin and find themselves covered in unusual tattoos. Beside them slumbers the most adorable cat/bird/megafauna any of them have ever seen. And guess what? IT WANTS TO BE OUR FRIEND! We discuss the long journey our new friend Trico took to reach our PS4s, the artists and animators that helped bring the creature to life, how we feel about navigating the world he inhabits and… oh my god Trico! Where are you going!? Bad Trico! All this and more as we cover Fumito Ueda’s third game and genDESIGN’s first, the 2016 release The Last Guardian.

Music used in this issue:

1. Panorama by Takeshi Furukawa
2. Epilogue by Takeshi Furukawa

Cane and Rinse 347 was edited by Jay Taylor.

I realise I'm massively behind the curve on this, but I've just started Last Guardian (inspired by episode 4 of the podcast). If anybody else is playing through and wants to share thoughts as they go, hit me up.

My initial thoughts: that camera, that camera and that camera!! But the spectacle is wow! The boy handles and is clearly intended to handle like a child (carrying on the janky theme from Ico) but sometimes it's just downright frustrating....

I obviously haven't listened to the episode yet but I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the panel's thoughts.
