I think the intentions are probably pretty fine- just, you know, it's hipster bullshit. Very pretty hipster bullshit. Teenage Engineering's stuff is all very videogamey and cutesy like that device- just look at the Pocket Operators.

Back again with another one, here's that humorous tinge I was talking about bringing. God, this one hurt to play.

Final Fronts is a perfect example of why sometimes, it's really not worth it to target late adopters.

Oh christ, I just looked, aye, I've seen that before, bloody crank handle and everything
I can't help but think that it's a fashion accessory first and foremost. I can't help but feel that their intentions are not good, not good for gaming at least.
It might be a prejudicial soul recoiling, I can't tell nowadays, but it smells all wrong to me.
I dunno, it seems quite cool, that Play Date thing. It's had a largely positive reaction and Edge were all over it. Nice that there are people still trying to keep things interesting and different I think.

I can't say it bothers me too much. I doubt I'll buy one, but don't begrudge anyone else who wants to. I probably wouldn't dismiss anyone who's interested in it as a cunt, either.

Thing is, I'd be willing to bet that most the 12 games coming out for it end up being really good. They've got some big names lined up to develop for it, and I like the concept (monthly release, everyone playing together etc.) I bet the forums will be alive with discussion.

It's time to announce my horror film podcast:

The Blood Shed

All episodes can be found on Itunes, Spotify etc...

We're on Instagram and Twitter and we also have a sub on Reddit as a place to try and keep all relevant information in one place.

After I put my Gameboy Pocket post up on my blog, that happily tipped my blog visits over 1100 views, which is nice.

I appreciate that a lot of that may be bots, and that if someone did actually visit, it doesn't necessarily mean that they read a single word - but it's cool to think that maybe someone found it, read it, and enjoyed an aspect of something.

It will have been up a year in November and has been a real joy to update with stuff as I fancy it.

I'm not doing it really for any other reason than its fun, and I tend to look at things differently when I think about writing it down, which is rewarding in its own weird personal way.

If anybody were to read about your Game Boy escapade and not feel at least slightly better about the world afterwards, there's something wrong with them.

I don't check in on your blog very often considering you post all the same stuff on here anyway, but I'm sure it will bring great joy to somebody sooner or later.

You're doing the Lord's work. Keep it up, my friend! :)

Cheers man πŸ‘πŸ½.

Yeah, to be honest all my stuff comes here first, as that just seems like the natural way it comes out.

I started the blog just as a space to start putting things down outside of the forum and be more accessible to people who aren’t perhaps members but may find it interesting helpful.

Mind, I did get a bit of grief from a dude who was furious that my pictures aren’t perfectly straight and he now can’t use them as wallpapers πŸ˜„.

My β€œstaged art” will now never be shared because I take crooked photos πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ - Bloody Dickhead.

To add to the amount of pure shameless self promotion going on here:

I have recently started streaming daily on Twitch around 10PM BST. All donations I receive go straight to charity. I am currently supporting Prostate Cancer UK. P`lease find my stream here:

https://www.twitch.tv/gaming_for_a_better_world

I feel very happy when I support charities through my passion for games. I hope some of you lovely guys and gals can join me.

I'm being destroyed by every Hunter in the world on Resident Evil 1: Director's Cut for PS1 at the moment for your viewing pleasure ;) However, it is all for charity, so hey ho!

I'd love to check out what some of you other guys and gals are making/streaming ! I watched Jacob's YouTube video on Shadow of the Colossus recently and it is extremely detailed and well-researched!

Great cuts my dude and love the narration you put over it. Clearly you spent time writing a script and researched many of the games in the COD series.

That banzai voice line though... ;)

Very glad you enjoyed it! honestly, I wish I had cut in a couple more of the Banzais. I don't think the two repetitions really hit home the sheer terror it instills in me.

I've got another video out, this one didn't take as much recording time but I am pretty happy with how it came out. Hurricane's inbound so I've got some storm days to hopefully get footage for my next few videos recorded (powering through some PS2 games atm) before Dorian knocks our power out...

Howdy all, just thought I'd promote an email newsletter I've started recently.

It is a way for me to share short stories that I write. So far there have been 2 stories (and I can send out previous emails to new subscribers, so you won't miss out), each have been under 600 words, and they are generally silly and fun, though I may occasionally toss in a more tonally heavy piece from time to time. They may start getting longer over time, or follow a running narrative (right now there will be a loose arc running between some of them). I really don't know, I'm just using it to share stuff with people who may be interested in reading it. I figured it is easier than keeping up with a blog or website, so I don't have to update or design it, and people don't have to worry about visiting it every so often to check for updates, it just shows up once in a while with a new story.

Anyway. If that sounds interesting, you can subscribe at https://tinyletter.com/tleprie. My goal is to have between 3 and 12 stories a month until I or the internet die.

I'm no music reviewer, but thought I'd try something interesting just for something to do: https://gamesihaveplayed.wordpress.com/ ... ospective/

Underwhelmed by the latest Nick Cave album, I'm listening to one album a day, in order, over the next few weeks, so that I can better evaluate the most recent release.

The two most recent episodes of my podcast, Three Nice Things have been about video game movies!

First up is the 2005 film, Doom!

And, this week's episode is about the 1994 film, Street Fighter: The Movie! And, we're joined by C&R's own Thomas Quillfeldt!

My co-host and I got to interview comic book legend Steve Englehart for our podcast, Previously on X-Men! We talked about his time writing the Beast, the X-Men and his early Marvel comics career!
