Cane and Rinse Community Achievements *updated 8/12/16*

Post by AndrewBrown » July 1st, 2016, 1:39 am

Here's some community achievements you can add to your signature, or just claim here. These are intended to be fun; most of the forum probably has all of them already anyway. I'll create and add more as they occur to me or if people have suggestions. Put the Imgur link in the img bb code to add it to your signature or forum post.

I like it! That's really good! I've got:

I originally went through the whole Cane and Rinse backlog and listened to every game I had played. Once I finished that, I went through and listened to any of the games I hadn't played, but was interested in. Recently I decided to go back and listen to any others I had missed (excluding games I had plans to play in the near future). So I don't have any of the Volume ones yet, but I don't actually have that many episodes that I'm missing (between 8-15 per volume).

I think listening to every sound of play episode would be a good one too

Great idea!

How about a special one for those who donate to our Patreon?

I considered that, but it's difficult doing "listen to all of the episodes" achievements as they're immediately nullified upon the release of the next episode. And since Sound of Play (to the best of my knowledge) isn't divided into coherent Volumes like the main podcast is, it's harder to set the achievements up that way. I could maybe do one based on the year of release?

Done! I'll also do one for buying something from the shop and for leaving a review on iTunes.

When I first started listening to the show last year, I went through all the old episodes and listened to the ones on games I own, too. Spent the past ~6 months or so going through the whole backlog episode by episode. I just finished Volume 2... and I have less than 100 episodes to go now, which should give you an idea of how much of Volume 3 and 4 I've listened to. It was actually doing that which gave me the idea to do this (so maybe share the achievements on Twitter too, if you Tweet?).

Great idea. Now you need to assign points to them so we can easily tell who the dedicated few are just by their giant e-genitals/number!

I was trying to avoid turning this into a pissing contest which is one reason I didn't put score totals on it.

You don't need scores to turn anything into pissing contest ;P You can (and people usually do) go by rarity :p So please stop giving scores a bad press, they are very useful if used correctly :P

Well Metacritic rated it as 7.2, so you were clearly paid off by the competition to give it a low score!
