They've released five little snippets of footage as teasers,
I don't have as much of a problem with this film as I would have had over an adaptation of Akira. Although, as a reader of the Masumune Shirow's manga since it's first Western release back in 1995 as well as being a fan of both the theatrical animated features and the Stand Alone Complex series, I do find myself somewhat curious as to how this will turn out.

I'm curious, but I feel like it's going to have a real hard time competing with the likes of Stand Alone Complex. That show was pretty much a animated HBO crime drama.

Gotta say though, whilst the first, second and fifth teasers are definitely riffing on both the Oshii features and the Shirow manga and for that reason peaked my interest. The fourth one featuring Takeshi Kitano as Daisuke Aramaki clip is bloody shit!
