According to Google the national dish of England is chicken tikka masala so I might join in with that at 2 in the afternoon.
Accurate and delicious (vegetable version for me though)!
I was in the British Museum the other day and spent the whole time explaining to my 6 year old son why our museum had precious relics from other countries and he kept asking me why we had stolen them which we basically did before it became bad form. So It doesn’t surprise me that the modified cuisine of another country is our national dish. The British empire was pretty good and conquering and unashamedly reappropriating.
I’ll probably have a cup of English breakfast tea tomorrow....we didn’t steal that did we? Oh we did...
I do love chicken tikka and do actually enjoy the veggie version. I’m not a vegetarian by any means but there are some beautiful veggie meals we make now and again. I’ve also in the past year, maybe once or twice a pay, bought Oatly Semi oat milk! It goes well with the slim fast milkshakes that I’m pretending is helping me lose weight. It is delicious though.
Could always skip breakfast and have a late full monty with brown sauce and a nice cuppa? I think I’ll need to take the guys in work to the local chippy for a haggis supper on Monday. Yum yum
Aye, I think with the gradual shift many are making to plant based milks the demand is such that they can get away with the price. In saying that though, I did try the oat milk from my local Aldi which was a bit cheaper. Bit more watery than Oatly Semi but tasted lovely!
I haven’t tried anything other than Oat milk but from the few people I’ve mentioned it to, they don’t recommend other things especially soy milk, stating it was “God awful”.
Second the coconut, love that stuff. I also quite like a nice cold glass of almond milk. Looks a bit grey but pleasant flavour. Barely have any milk these days otherwise.
I never noticed that last night. That’s fantastic! Rivalry put aside that’s what this is all about! Hope Chris fully recovers, it was heartbreaking to watch.
Hmm might give the coconut a bash then! I do like the oat milk and crunchy nut mix.
Ah yeah, can’t go wrong with a veggie burger! What sauce do we prefer (if any)?
Predictions for today guys?
Mine being:
England 2 - 1 Croatia
Austria 3 - 1 N. Macedonia
Netherlands 1 - 0 Ukraine
Think Holland game could even be a score draw if both teams up for it!
We tired in the second half but very pleased with a professional, calm win. They played with an awareness of the occasion but without the usual jitters I associate with England. Pickford was reassuringly stable, as well.
I haven’t managed to sample a north Macedonian delicacy yet but sipping some Austrian beer.
Delighted by the England result but got extremely nervous when we didn’t put the game to bed. It’s also interesting to note that our pathway through the tournament would be easier if we don’t win the group.
