A little early I know, but online time is going to become less and less over the next few days, so I thought I would take a moment out now to wish all my fellow Cane and Rinsers a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope 2013 brings you lots of joy, and hopefully tip top games (and maybe new consoles??)
Merry Christmas to all of you Caners & Rinsers from me (and the team, although I'm sure some of them will pop in here)!
Thanks for all your support throughout 2012 and here's to another year of C&R in 2013.
My dad got me — on top of what amounts to $150 or so worth of movies earlier in the year — the Dark Knight trilogy "Making Of" book. Wasn't even expecting anything else from him, let alone that.
I also got to finally experience the phenomenon people talk about so often known as "playing the Wii with the family at Christmas". Certainly I've played Wii Sports with my dad a few times over the years, but never during the holiday season, if only because we almost always would spend the day at a relative's and not at his place. Considering we hadn't played it in a dog's age (mostly because connecting it to his amplifier causes lag that makes it unplayable), I was surprised that he remembered the bowling mode that adds rows with each frame, until there's 91 pins in the final throw. After a couple of goes of that, I ended up going home to pick up Wii Sports Resort to do the actual 100-pin game playable in that, which was also a great riot. My brother and his wife turned up shortly after we'd begun and I put my brother in the next game, where he somehow dark horse'd his way to victory; and then we tried a few of the other sports. The whole afternoon and evening were great fun. Really, that's the first time I've ever played the Wii in that way, and I enjoyed it a whole lot.
Apart from that, not a whole lot happened out of the ordinary. Hope you're all having a good time with whoever, wherever.
