Also Im giving up on Game of Thrones I know was a mistake to watch this season and it has brought nothing but pain I havent seen a source material being this butchered since the Hobbit and this one is much worse so i cant watch anymore what damn shame,if you only watch the show I beg you to read the books because the true story is there.
Haha, it came about rather suddenly after listening to the Big Finish audios. Now i'm doing about 1-2 books a day which is why I have so much Uni work to do probably  It's certainly worth a go! If I had to do a top 5 Sherlock Holmes adaptations it would probably go:

1. Sherlock Holmes (Grenada)
2. Elementary (S1 in particular)
3. Sherlock Holmes (2013 Russian)
4. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson (Russian)
5. Big Finish Audios - with pretty much any Cushing/Rathbone adaptation close behind.

I think with the 2013 one, give it the first two episodes and if you don't like it, drop it. It's pretty divisive seeing how much it messes with canon but personally speaking I think the second episode is the best so if you don't like that one it's probably not worth keeping up. It's a shame how often it's overlooked as it is really well made. If you like Holmes though, particularly the Brett ones, you'll have no problem with Livanov/Solomin's version. It's just marvy.

I have been watching three shows recently:
1. Scrubs, I am watching it all the way through for the 2nd time.
2. Firefly, just started watching it for the first time, only on the 3rd episode, but I am loving it.
3. Arrested Development, I have seen a few random episodes, but am finally watching it in order, almost finished the 1st season, and am enjoying it a lot.

No-one should ever start watching Firefly. When it finishes it'll be like a hole in your heart that never truly goes away...

Been watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure lately. Watched through the first series, which makes up the first two story arcs. Don't think I'm going to be watching any more. Wasn't particularly impressed by it. It was a bit of a let down, as I've been seeing people talk about it a lot lately, and the art direction of it looks really cool and unique. But the show itself suffers badly from a lot of the problems that plague so many shonen animes. Boring and exhaustingly shouty characters, horrible pacing, clumsy exposition, and static and tediously drawn out fight scenes. It's kind of strange when compared to Akame ga Kill that I watched a while ago now. That was one of the few shonens I really liked, despite it on the surface not looking like something special. JoJo looked like it might be something different, but it turns out not to be.

I've also really gotten in to Steven Universe. It's utterly brilliant. It's got a gorgeous art style full of really good use of pastel colours and lighting, with really nice backgrounds. It also has a pretty great soundtrack too. But the best thing about it is how absolutely fantastic the character development is. The show does an amazing job of interweaving backstory, the overall arc, and character development in to one cohesive whole. They compliment and serve each other so well. A lot of the show is also themed around a very non-traditional family dynamic, and it even has quite a few LGBT themes in there, which are done really well. It's just another part of the cohesive whole that makes perfect sense, and adds a lot to the experience, but never feels overbearing or forced. Everything about the show is so expertly and effortlessly pulled off. Even with this renaissance of Western cartoons we've been having in recent years, it stands out as having depth and storytelling deftness that's quite exceptional. It can get very emotional, very often. It's something that I would really urge people check out if they were in to the character building of Avatar, and also the carefree style of Adventure Time. The show is so good I would even say it's surpassing Adventure Time right now.

Saw Inside Out today.

Amazing film, might well be my favourite Pixar movie of all.

I saw it at a preview last weekend and similarly enjoyed it, though I wouldn't call it my favourite Pixar (it's probably one of Toy Story 3, Up! or Ratatouille). I can see it having a life beyond the film too, with short stories examining the inner workings of other people's minds.

I just got back from seeing this as well. It amazes me how they made such a complicated and tricky premise so simple and delightful?

I laughed, I cried. Loved every minute of it.

Pixar back to their best after a bumpy few years.

I've been re-watching Utopia on 4oD. It is an absolutely stunning piece of work, and I'm heart broken that it got cancelled after 2 seasons. This is pretty much my favourite british drama (sci-fi???) of the last 15 years, and it has some of the best cinematography and sound design I've seen in any European or US show. I'm kind of coming on here just to say GO WATCH IT! It needs to be seen!

David Fincher is making a US remake for HBO, which I'm interested in, but have no idea how they'll even begin to come close to the original. One of the many things I like so much about Utopia, is that it feels very much like a product of modern British culture. I just think something will be lost in translation.

PLEASE go watch Utopia!

I mean, listen to this soundtrack! It's so damn GOOD!

Went to watch the new Misson Impossible last night. Man was I bored. Some of the action set pieces are really good to watch especially the opening airplane shot. But there is no plot or story that's any different.

Evil Man needs money to change the world to what he likes. By the looks of it its a world with Tom Cruise (which is fine by me).

They travel all over world and not once can I remember the reason they needed to go to that country.

Most of the 3 act is set in London and they spend 45 mins basically showing Houses of parliament, big Ben, Tower Bridge, Tower of London there main way of communication are Red Phone boxes. All they missed was a car chase in a black cab.

If you edited the film and put all the action scenes in a different order it wouldn't change a thing.

Before the film was a trailer for the new bond and halfway through the film I wished I could just go watch Casino Royale or a Bourne Movie.

Disappointed from a franchise I always enjoyed. Even the dodgy John Woo MI:2

I watched Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief the other night. It was ok, not as exciting as I was hoping for to be honest and a little dry, but interesting nonetheless.

Please let Trent Reznor be doing the soundtrack!

I hope they just re-use Cristobal Tapia de Veer's score. It's too damn good!

I second Josh's sentiments regarding Utopia - one of the most, distinctly different British TV dramas I've watched in an age and such a shame it was cancelled.

Got a couple of videogame documentaries to watch. The Ecstasy of Order (about Tetris) and King Of The Arcade, about a guy called Frankie Knuckles who repairs arcade games and opened his own arcade. Both definitely worth a watch if you think you might be interested. I'm a sucker for any documentary about old arcade stuff to be honest, even if a lot of them repeat the same old stories!

I've been watching Young Justice on Netflix. I didn't really watch it when it was on television. What a series! I'm literally locked onto the screen at the level of animation quality and level of character depth. There is not one character on the team that doesn't get his or her moment. Only season 1 is up now but I will be going out to purchase season 2!

Watched The Dark Knight Returns Part One. I fancied it as I'm hoping it is who Affleck is basing his Batman on. Batman is retired and struggling with it and eventually gets back in the game. At the end I saw the credits and thought I recognised the voice, Robocop himself Peter Weller voices Batman.

Yeah the majority of them are good, most are available on Netflix and Amazon Prime. There are some good ones for other heroes as well, there was a really good one about The Flash but I can't remember it's name.

I've been watching a lot of Anime lately, so far I've watched Attack on Titan which I really like. Hopefully the second season will be here shortly. I've also just finished watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood this week, I'd recommend it if you haven't already seen it. Can anyone suggest another anime to watch?
