HaloFandango wrote: May 14th, 2021, 2:54 am Hi Eterno and welcome to the community, I hope you enjoy your time here!

I'm an Xbox fan too, what are you playing at the moment? I'm currently enjoying Apex Legends and Warframe on the Box!

Nice to meet another expat in Japan, which prefecture are you living in if you don't mind me asking? I'm currently based in Tochigi
Hi Halo and thanks! Really appreciate the lack of drama here and the respectful exchange of opinions.

I recently started the Division 2 on the box, also going through the DLCs of Immortals: Fenyx Rising and logging in Avengers when a fun event is on. I'll drop my gamertag in the dedicated topic.

I used to be in Tokyo for 10 years or so but have been in Fukuoka for a year and half now. Tochigi is quite remote!
Yeah, Cane and Rinse is one of those rare places where people can have a conversation with each other and actually disagree on topics without things getting nasty! 8-)

You'll have to let Jay (one of the main guys at Cane and Rinse) know in that case, as he is a huge Division 2 fan (he does play on Playstation, but I'm sure he can give you plenty of tips and tricks).

Oh, fantastic! Fukuoka was a lovely place when I visited a few years ago! Dazaifu shrine was incredible, very atmospheric (when it isn't too crowded) :) Tochigi is certainly remote, but if you love shimotsukare, we're good at making that. ;)

Hey, Smiffy (or Neil or Cornelius or, well whatever you can fathom to tag me as).

Long time listener and sporadic contributor (thanks for reading out my PS2 opinions Leon). I am an avid listener and often feel inspired by the shows whether it be the main line pods or the monthly exclusives. I am an aspiring podcaster in as much as I like to gather a few friends, pick a subject and have at it with an evening of opinionated babble.

Of the machines I actually owned or had in my household - C64 was the start, Mega Drive, Amiga (Still my fav), Master System, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360... I did own every console in the following generations but got rid or sold shortly after. Notable mentions to my Switch, which was the only platform I was genuinely heartbroken to part with but had no choice due to financial crisis. The latter listing of consoles and my apathy with them (although played some blinders) is mainly down to me mainlining PC as my primary platform since about 2010 onwards, but have always been a PC fan.

Massive fan of the show and in particular the passion you all seem to bring. I dont care how much I might disagree with your opinions at times, its okay. If you have a passionate standpoint, it's fascinating to hear why. Mostly, you all really know your onions and I have since discovered so many other avenues of content by virtue of listening to your shows. Digital Foundry, One Credit Classics and of course the brilliant team you have along with their own individual content. Have had the pleasure of playing a few batcrap crazy sessions of Sea or Thieves with Darren/Dezm0nd, quality bloke that one! Although he did abandon me to a Megalodon once if I remember correctly.

Keep it coming everyone and I have made a promise to myself to contribute more in the future.

Hey all,

Longtime listener, sometimes poster - mostly in the games completed thread. Only just noticed this thread so apologies for not posting earlier!

For my money Cane And Rinse is the best gaming podcast out there, insightful, funny and passionate so many thanks for the thousand of hours of quality in ear entertainment!

Been a gamer since i can remember, many a happy childhood hour spent on various platforms throughout the 90's as well as being lucky enough to pursue a career in the games industry. 50/50 PC and PS5 these days, love most genres but love me a good single player narrative adventure - blasting through the Legendary Editions of Mass Effect alongside a replay of Deus Ex HR at the moment!

Hello all! Like everyone else, I've been a long time listener to the show. I'd been meaning to sign up for the forums and give to the Patreon for quite some time, but life and the lack of a good internet connection kind of got in the way. Looking forward to at least attempting to be active here.

I've been gaming since the early 80s. Played my uncle's Atari before my family got our NES (sadly without the light gun). Also played a decent amount of arcade games during that period thanks to the local rollerskating rink and pizza places. Over the years I've had an NES, SNES, 3DO (loved that console despite its weirdness), Playstation 1/2/3, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Wii, WiiU, Switch, OG XB, XB 360, XB1, and XSX. Also have had an iteration of every Nintendo handheld and Sony handheld (Vita is still my "Persona machine").

I play a lot of different game genres, anything from Tetris to JRPGs (working through Yakuza Like a Dragon now if my choice of username wasn't an indication) to FPS like Halo and Wolfenstein to third person shooters like Gears. I don't really do PvP stuff anymore for a multitude of reasons. I'm currently playing the aforementioned Yakuza Like a Dragon along with a goodly amount of Gears 5's Horde Mode. Hoping to try out The Ascent, but I think Back4Blood and Psychonauts 2 may eclipse it.

Hello forum. After some 5+ years of listening to Cane and Rinse I figured it was about time I joined the conversation.

Like many here video games have been part of my life for its entirety. I vividly remember playing Mega Man 6 during nap time at the daycare/preschool I attended despite all the time that has passed. After moving a year after that what should a neighbor I befriended happen to have but an NES and a number of the Mega Man titles for the system. This led to a lifetime love of the Blue Bomber and a now burgeoning collection of the franchise's gigantic library. My console playing days were cut short when my parents got rid of my NES but my grandfather bought me a Game Boy and Kirby's Dream Land later that same year. What followed was a decade of handheld gaming with all the delights of the GB, GBC, and GBA library. Console gaming was a rare treat experienced only at friends' houses on occasion until my 14th birthday when I got a GameCube. A couple years later an N64 and PS2 followed when I started my first part-time job and I feel as if I've been playing catch-up on all the excellent titles I missed ever since.

At the dawn of Twitch.tv I became enamored with livestreaming via speedrunning and have been broadcasting under a channel of the same moniker as my handle here since. Speedrunning activities are much more sporadic now and I like to play some mix of time sinks like FF14, Path of Exile, and Monster Hunter, titles from my bucket list, and Japanese exclusives that I very lazily translate as I play through. As of the writing of this I am about a week into trying Splatoon 2 and am very thoroughly enjoying it.

Hi! I only started playing Mega Man last year, but really enjoyed the only one I've played so far (the first Mega Man X game). I got the first collection on the Switch, so got MM X 2, 3 and 4 to get through next.

Hello, I'm envious of how many great games you have to play lol. I think the only official Mega Man titles I haven't really experienced yet are the Misadventures of Tron Bonne, Super Adventure Rockman, and Street Fighter X Mega Man if that even counts. If you like the X collection and are hungry for more feel free to ask if you want any suggestions.

Hello all. I've been meaning to sign up for a while now. I discovered the podcast early on in the pandemic and immediately became enamoured with it. It's helped me through these difficult times and renewed my passion for games after a period of barely playing any owing to various commitments. What I love about it is how passionate and insightful the contributors are, and hearing their personal (often nostalgic) stories of playing the games for the first time. The tone is always very inclusive. There's just a great vibe that is sadly not present in a lot of online games discussion - a respect for others and their opinions, and a consensus, it seems, that games deserve to be discussed as films and literature often are.

Although I've been playing games since the early 1990s, I truly became a fan during the Playstation era. I love all types of games. A few favourites that come to mind are Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Ocarina of Time, Monkey Island and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. I'm also massively into football games, arcade racers and seeking out retro games that I missed first time round.

I look forward to contributing to the forum. Thanks to Leon and Jay and co for making the podcast. I can only imagine how much work and planning goes into it.
