Answer my random question thread
Answer my random question thread
Didn't know where to put this so I thought I'd start a question thread.
Is there anyway to see what games you've downloaded to your 360 but deleted?

Yes, your download history is under account management I think. You can re-download almost everything from there.
Re: Answer my random question thread
Thanks, can't wait to see what I've forgotten about.
Re: Answer my random question thread
I actually have a question that suits this thread. One that's a little embarrassing actually. I've long since forgotten what "Cane and Rinse" is supposed to be a play on words of.... So, what is it?

Re: Answer my random question thread
Kane & Lynch!
Re: Answer my random question thread
Really? I was thinking it was some kind of turn of phrase that was something like "[blank] and rinse", that with adding "cane" instead made sense since the podcast was about videogame criticism, sort of. I was thinking the word had a similar sound to "cane" as well. So what the hell was I thinking of?
And why name the podcast after Kane and Lynch? Or are you just pulling my leg?
...I'm so confused.

Re: Answer my random question thread
It absolutely is a pun on Kane & Lynch, but the podcast's not named after Kane & Lynch. I've never even played a K&L game.
People say that they 'cane' games, as in playing a game or games in general most of their free time. People say they 'rinse' games when they complete every last objective, finish them on all difficulties, get 1000/1000 Gamerscore or the Platinum trophy or whatever.
Some gamers cane but don't rinse, others rinse but don't cane. Some gamers Cane and Rinse.

Re: Answer my random question thread
That logic is what I was going by trying to think of the phrase I was imagining, kind of.

Ok so what's the stories behind people's names on here?.
Domsbeard came from getting Gears 3 and seeing the trope of someone having a hard time meaning they grow a beard. As a happy beard wearer myself it annoys me for some reason and Domsbeard was born!.

When starting world of war craft I needed a name for my undead rogue. I'm rubbish at picking names so I named myself after a cartoon dog...
Well I was really into the anime beck at the time, although the dog isn't much to do with the anime he's called beck and I thought he was cool.
Beck is about a kid learning guitar who joins his local music scene and joins a band. I dunno if I'd recommend it, at 17 it was good but I have a feeling it wouldn't compare to nostalgia.

So are we to assume that Beck the dog is named after Beck Hansen the musician?Beck wrote:Beck is about a kid learning guitar who joins his local music scene and joins a band.
Re: Answer my random question thread
Ha ha, amazing. I've never been a fan of beck hansen so I hadn't made the connection. Reading the Wikipedia entry of his early life and yeah it seems quite similar.
The anime only got one season before it was cancelled. I believe the manga went on for quite a few years longer. A manga about music didn't work for me lol.

Mine was Anime (Or Manga as it was known way back then in the UK) too. Guyver was released as 12 vhs episodes of 45 mintues each. Ahhh the nineties!
Ash comes from an unhealthy obsession with the Evil Dead trilogy, Bruce Campbell, The Crow 2 and Pokemon
I was about 12 at the time so don't judge too harshly!

Mine came from trying to think of a handle when I first got on Xbox Live, I'd been reading up on Greek philosophy and decided that Damocles from the anecdote of the Sword of Damocles would make a good handle. Someone had already got there first so I had to add some random numbers.

It was a fantasy character from some childhood story in a book called The Straw Men. Always liked the look of the name and how it was written phonetically. Used it for about 11-12 years now.

Mine was MushroomRatso (the 'mushroom' came out of the original Xbox's randomiser) but I did splash out the £7 to change it after a couple of years!
Re: Answer my random question thread
In my more hell raising past, whenever me and my friends were very drunk/high we would refer to our selves as being as buckled as a kipper. We would then end up using the name Buckled Kipper for any team we were involved in (usually 5 a side football). Now that my life is spent mostly staying home these days, I like to continue the naming tradition with anything I do online.
