Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - Cane & Rinse 84

“What is a man? A Miserable little pile of secrets!””

More than ten years after the series’ Famicom debut, director Toru Hagihara fully integrated exploration and RPG elements into the traditional linear, gothic action-platforming of Konami’s Akumaj? Dracula (Devil’s Castle Dracula) series. The result was one of the most celebrated 2D titles of all time: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Leon, Josh, Karl and special guest Andi Hamilton of http://midnightresistance.co.uk/ go out this evening for pleasure, while the night is still young.

Additional audio used in this show is as follows:

Track 1: Moonlight Nocturne by Michiru Yamane
Track 2: Dracula’s Castle by Michiru Yamane
Track 3: Prayer by Michiru Yamane
Track 4: Prologue by Michiru Yamane

Cane & Rinse 84 was edited by Darren Gargette.

Awesome, been looking forward to this. It's the first time I've specifically played a game for the podcast so it'll be nice to listen whilst it's so fresh in my mind.

I got a mention and freaked out like a fanboy.

Excellent podcast, not often you'll hear such unanimous gushing praise from the C&R crew. The only other game I'd be expecting to get that is Heavy Rain!

:D

Before I was invited on this podcast, I was much like you. Now I know all podcasters are arseholes, and the magic is gone. ;)

Thats a pity. The Scottish one seemed like a nice bloke. ;)

I'm only half Scottish, so I'm only partly wankish. \o/

You're a podcaster though, so you're still an arse.

Top show, it really helped fill in a blind spot of mine as I haven't played a Castlevania before  Will be picking this one up though after hearing such a glowing tribute.

I think it'll have to be XBLA - Ratso did you say that one played like the original US should?

Speedwise yes, but as Andi pointed out it is missing some animation.

Ah, that was it. I knew someone mentioned something, but couldn't find it skipping through. Seems like my best option then, cheers chaps!
