I've recently been listening to Hip-Hop producer Knxwledge's VGM series, beat-tapes made using only video game music for samples (besides drums/vocal snippets, I'd assume).
There are few samples that are really bugging me because I know I've heard them before but cannae remember the source, and this seemed like the best place to ask for help.
Besides that, I thought people here might enjoy the series and that it could be fun for people to listen and see what else they can spot in there.
The songs I'm asking about:

I think this might be from a PS1 FF game
https://knxwledge.bandcamp.com/track/5-ruins
I've definitely heard this track before and it's annoying the heck out of me that I can't remember where it's from. The title 'ruins' is probably a big clue and I'd guess a JRPG.... hopefully one of you can save me from digging through every single JRPG game I've played with a ruins area.

I have high hopes that somebody here will get this one. Sounds like a beat em up to me. I think one I've played, but that may be because it's got a similar vibe to some of the SoR tunes.

https://knxwledge.bandcamp.com/track/6-relax
I haven't heard either of these before, but they sound great and I'd be interested to hear the original soundtracks they come from.
You can listen to any of the tapes ( a whopping 35 in total!) on his bandcamp

Here's an NME article anyone interested to read a bit about this project and Knxwledge's collab with Capcom:

Sorry, I can't name any of them. Agree that one sounding like the Streets Of Rage games, though!

A lot of familar sounds, rhythms and tones, but nothing specific leaps out for me.

Yeah, the only one I'm sure I've definitely heard before is Ruins. The others could just be familiar because other games used similar sounds/melodies.
I haven't found any of the above ones, but I did spot this one below is from Raystorm, a PS1 overhead shooter that I had as a kid.

Ah, I had no idea it was available on new consoles now, I should have checked. I'm definitely going to pick this up later this month, thanks for the heads up!
