MAME Cab

Post by TomFum »

Went over to my mates house the other day and he built this for his 4yr old

Image

He hasnt finished it yet as the piping needs doing and hes gonna put another marquee on it, but its a great cab, everything works as it should. 1 & 2 player buttons and coin buttons work. Marquee is backlit and has speakers in it.

Said he should start making them and selling them, what do you think.

I he undercut everyone by a few quid he'd do well as MAME cabs are always so expensive for what they are. They do look so cool though.

Love it. If he enjoys doing it then why not set up a cottage industry?

One day I shall have a MAME cab of my own.
If I get really rich (unlikely) I shall have an arcade of dedicated PCB's!

Haha I think we all have that dream. I remember when I got my first house with my ex about 15 years ago, there was this massive garage attached to it. I'd already planned which arcade cabinets and pinball games were going where. It wasn't long before the place was filled with ladders, old wardrobes, broken fridges and bicycles lol.

Heh, yeah. Sucks!
I would have had a cab of some kind years ago if I wasn't always renting and moving regularly.

As a kid I swore when I "grew up" I'd have a Street Fighter 2 cab in my house. Never happened :(

Maybe the passions not there for me as much now as home consoles caught up?.

One day! I'd also love a Star Trek TNG pinball machine too.
