Sound of Play: 40
Welcome to our NOW WEEKLY podcast dedicated to videogame music – Sound of Play
For many of us, it’s hard to think of almost any videogame without our minds conjuring up the music that accompanied it. What we aim to bring you with Sound of Play is a diverse sample of our favourite pieces from the many air-punching, spine-tingling, tear-jerking and grin-inducing videogame soundtracks we’ve heard over the years. Of course it’s not just about what we like, so if you venture over to our forum at caneandrinse.com you can put forward your favourites and we’ll start to include a selection in the playlist for each show.
This show’s presenters was: Leon Cox (@ratsoalbion)
with community contributions from Glen Watts, Addman, wisheewashee, Scrustle, xbenblasterx, aidopotato, Good Shot Janson, macstat and Handsinthejam

Re: Sound of Play: 40
I realise I'm really necro-ing this thread, but I've been burning through Sound of Play (in a mostly random order) and noticed something interesting regarding the Interstate 76 track on this episode. It's a "sound-alike" of a Brothers Johnson song called Get the Funk Outta My Face.
I've had a quick look at the other tracks and while I think some of them are wholly original, they also seem to do "sound-alikes" of other 70s funk songs. For instance "Pimp Like Me" sounds a lot like "Get Up and Get Down" by The Dramatics
Another fun fact about the I76 soundtrack is it features "Brain" on drums who has played with a ton of people, like Guns and Roses and Tom Waits.

70's funk and soul is right in my wheelhouse so it piqued my interest straight away.ratsoalbion wrote: ↑June 15th, 2017, 10:48 am Nice pick-up, good knowledge.

And thanks, it's basically my go to for all internet handles.
