*Shows hand*. Aside from all reasons mentioned (including a handful of VC games) I have a thing for that odd machine and the unique game experiences it offers. Games like Nintendoland and Game & Wario are still in regular rotation for low entry bar multiplayer gaming. Plus it's our device of choice for Netflix, with the gamepad functionality.

At least he's had a FULL YEAR dedicated to him., Shame he couldn't really capitalise on it.

I really liked the Grandia games, if you’ve played Child of Light you’ll be able to see where Ubi ‘borrowed’ the combat system from :)

I love the first one, like the second one, though I probably haven't played the second one since about 2004/5.

Haven't played Child of Light but now that you've made that comparison, I might try and track it down!

So I've been following a dude called Furrtek that's been doing some wizardry with the display output settings on Virtual Boy's.

He's come up with a solution called VirtualTap. So far, he's manged to get a clean crisp RGB output onto a CRT, which looks stunning.

Currently, it's only outputs are VGA and NTSC RGB.

He's also programmed the display so that you can alter the display colours, if the red & black output of the VB is a bit harsh, then maybe you'll go for a teal and black, or blue and black.

Either way, hopefully, soon, there'll be a simple plug and play box you can use to finally play these games without breaking your face, eyes and head.

I want one of these. Bad.

So far, it's just down as 35 minutes of upcoming 3DS and Switch games.

I reckon we'll hear about the online service and all the complicated issues surrounding that too - surely.

Who knows, maybe something cool too, something that's a long way away but in development.....

I have a good feeling about this one.

I'll make sure to raise an imaginary toast as soon as your imaginary Metroid Prime Switch Trilogy is announced! :P
Spoiler: show
Now that I've said that, surely Nintendo will jinx it by actually announcing it, right? One can dream...

Oooooofff, can you imagine.....

There's a wealth of wonderful things they could announce though, at any time, on any Direct.

Don't get me wrong, more often than not it's nothing but we know there's been rumblings of a Pikmin, Animal Crossing and we know that Metroid is in development and that Yoshi is coming along nicely too, so at some point these will be spoken about or shown - it's just a matter of time.

Also there was that moody German listing of New Super Mario Bro's Wii U for Switch that popped up on Amazon a week or so ago, so again, maybe we'll get another port of a good Wii U game for the new Switch masses to sink their teeth into.

Then, I'm hopeful for new IP, I like the idea of Daemon Machina X and would like to see more of that.

Dunno, I'm just excited by the possibilities !!

Oh, it seems that there was nasty earthquake in Japan overnight and Nintendo has delayed the planned Direct that was scheduled for tonight.

I hope it wasn't too bad.

There’s been some... interesting... reactions to the delay on Twitter. Some people demanding a free game because ‘we pay your wages!’.

Entitlement. Yay.

It's not the first time stuff like this has happened - I remember reading about folks complaining that their action figure packages would be delayed after the last earthquake in Japan. Talk about having your priorities straight.

I don't like the phrase "It's just video games" when used in a critical context in order to dismiss the entire medium, but in a case like this with people losing their lives and suffering the real-life repercussions of a natural disaster... It's just video games. A conference being rescheduled is hardly worth being upset about.
