Curated YouTube Gaming Content

Post by Michiel K »

I made this topic, 'cause the video didn't really fit elsewhere. Feel free to add on with any interesting videos on a wider variety of topics that 'Videogame Criticism' doesn't cover!

All I want to say is... F-Zero GX in VR?!!! :o

Why are people sleeping on this thread?

Anyway, I need to share the love of these two comedy bits:

SuperBunnyhop went full investigative journalist recently and made these two really insightful videos, among others:

Here is a 9 minute long MGS tribute video that often reminds me of why I love the series so much (spoilers, obviously):

I assume gameplay videos are also welcome? If so:

My brain can barely comprehend the complexity of the inputs, but man, the amount of discipline and eye-hand coordination it takes to pull this stuff off in practice is absolutely incredible. The mirror fight at the end in particular has me floored. :o

Aww man, that is beautiful. I've never seen it before, thanks very much for sharing. When Pitfall appeared, I had such a vivid flashback to my nan's house sitting about six inches from the telly, completely absorbed and enchanted, lump in my throat. Wonderful stuff.

Incredibly bizarre but oddly moving Space Oddity music video, made using the real-time face capture that's now part of Star Citizen.

Shocking display of masochism- Dead Rising completed (the full ending) without killing a single zombie. Christ.

Until I'm told this is the WRONG thread for these videos, I'm gonna post another one!
Hilariously, this video came out 10 years ago...10 years before they actually announced plans for a Tetris movie!

That is excellent :D

It led me onto this pair of videos (they're not ads, though the first one has that tone) which I thought were quite interesting:

The second one is a bit better, impressions plus some discussion of different Tetris versions:

I guess the whole "game that doesn't lend itself to a movie gets a fake movie trailer" market was big for a while...

This thread is right up my alley. Love this kind of stuff, and have a stupid amount that I could share. So here's a small-ish collection of recent and not so recent stuff.

This is a fantastically detailed story on the lore and history of Hallownest. It also appears to be voiced by a Demetri Martin soundalike. And it also showed me a couple of things I've not done in a game I was sure I'd completed. Doh.

I recently managed to grab a copy of Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love for Wii for not much money and didn't know much about this series of games, other than that Segata Sanshiro had the hots for the female protagonists and multiple characters being included in the Project X Zone games. Well, whaddyaknow, someone on YouTube made a detailed and in-depth docu about the whole series...

I don't know if anyone saw these back when they aired in 2104, I only just found them this week. Some are funnier than others, I've chosen the Dhalsim one to share since it has Kumail Nanjiani!
