I kinda like the new direction and I'm very fond of Transformed. I suspect this one will have a wider appeal by focusing on Sonic. As good as the previous games were and a love letter to Sega, having nothing but Sonic and friends will catch their targeted audience more

It does look good, but there's Crash racing out soonish as well isn't there? I've heard a lot of people lately saying how bad Crash Team Racing was on PS1, but that's just not true. It was a really good game.

I think I played that but might be getting it confused with diddy kong racing. It's not coming to PC though I don't think. I pretty much have to go pc nowadays if I want to play anything. Any consoles or gadgets I buy just get lifted by my nephew.

I’d like resi 4 on switch, but the price is outrageous so I’ll wait.

Team Sonic Racing
What the what? They're asking 35 quid for this!
Just looked back through my emails, the first one cost me £2.49, admittedly in a sale, transformed was £13.50 at launch at greenmangaming.

35 quid? and it's got denuvo slapped on the top. Even the cdkeys discount is pitiful at 28 quid.

The highest recorded price for the two previous games on steam is £19.99
https://www.steamprices.com/uk/app/3419 ... ars-racing
https://www.steamprices.com/uk/app/2124 ... collection

Why is it so much more expensive than the others?

I'm nuts deep in that demon game at the minute so I'm not in a rush, I might wait a bit and see if any deals come up.

Both previous Sonic racing games were RRP £35-£45 at launch. So in effect this one is cheaper, if you factor inflation.

The highest recorded price for both on steam is £19.99, that would be without the launch discount if they had one.

Ok, console prices at retail then. But the previous games came out in, what, 2008 and 2012?

£35 when many new games are around £50 seems fairly reasonable to me. But yeah, you’ll be able to get it nicely discounted soon enough no doubt.

Also Team Sonic Racing is hovering just over £26 on a few game seller websites.

21 quid via the Russian eShop if that's any sweeter a proposition. Was just enough to tempt me.

Yeah it’s £29.99 on Amazon and less a lot of places, which seems a bit of a bargain to me...

How do you do that again? I've completely forgot, last time I did it was for sonic mania.

Hmmm, found it for £25.06 here with the discount code GAMINGTIME - https://www.voidu.com/en/team-sonic-racing

That's a bit better. Just checked and I put 47 hours into transformed. Hmmmmmmmm. If it was £19.99 I'd snap it up, that fivers making all the difference.

Think I might sleep on it, maybe write to my local MP tomorrow and see what they say.

@chase

Change your region at:

https://accounts.nintendo.com/

Log back in with your password, use your UK debit card or credit card info. I leave mine on South Africa (ZAF) because that's cheapest 90% of the time.

To check the best price for eShop games, I use:

https://eshop-prices.com/?currency=GBP

You can easily change your region for anything PAL. Japan and USA require a bit more work (separate account is easiest). Mexico is a no-go, to be honest, though it's often cheapest.

I've used a variety of eShops and not been taken hostage or had to rescue my family from an underground bunker or whatever yet.

I've watched some reviews to try and talk myself into it and I don't like the sound of this team mechanic. I just want to drive my car fast and drift around, I don't want to be babysitting the shitty AI and giving them power ups and stuff.
Has anyone here played it yet?

I buy a fair few Klei games (they're a media darling of sorts so I guess I get swept up in the hype every time) but something about them stops me dead in my tracks about ten minutes in. It might be the art style, though that doesn't explain Mark of the Ninja.

I bought this one as a game to play over Christmas on the laptop and Steam tells me I have 13 mins played (over several attempts).

Yeah, I wasn't feeling that one either. Loved don't starve though, love the art style in that and the way you discover everything for yourself through playing. Such a lovely game while you're exploring the world and finding out things, loses it's sheen a bit once you've seen it all and you're left with the crappy combat and repetitive gameplay, but of all the survival games, that's the one that did it for me. 76 hours according to steam.
Just the simple task of wandering around cutting trees, collecting grass and stuff I found so relaxing. Building a little fire at night and cooking some carrots. It really draws you in.

HORGIHUGH! Sorry, just clearing my throat. HORGIHUGH is coming May 30th for PC. Old school looking shoot em up. Looks like it could go either way, not much happening in the video. Looks a little dull but it could be fun to play, .

Don't Starve got me on the lack of explanation of what stuff did - you could play for ages and then have to start over because the game decided you were going to die with no warning. Obviously you get that info over time but it seemed unnecessarily harsh.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I quite like learning through my own mistakes like that, but you're right, sometimes you could lose a shit tonne of progress.
Even if you had that "dying is fun and part of the game" roguelite mindset going in, runs can last an awfully long time and you can get invested in your little camp you've made and stuff, to lose it all because of some silly mistake can be a right kick in the teeth.
