Surprised there hasn't been more third party Joycons thinking about it. There's definitely a market for a set with a decent D-pad.

Oh, cool! Decent price, too! Definitely may pick that one up if SNES games ever happen.

Yeah man, its good.

It is limiting in other features though, so check it's still for you before you buy it.

I'm pretty certain we'll get SNES games after that controller approval doc appeared.

Be aware that that Hori Joycon has no wireless capability. It only works connected to the Switch. A regular plus-shaped d-pad is still appealing, I think, but worth noting.

Also, weird that Hori didn't produce a matching right Joycon. Given you'll only be using them in handheld mode, I can imagine some folks might like a matching set on their Switch.

Edit: Ah, Suits already covered it. Apologies for the needless follow up.

Just need them to release a ProCon without a substandard D-pad.

Yeah I saw, it doesn't have rumble or gyro, but I only ever play in handheld and would only use it for the virtual console type games that don't use those features anyway. And yeah, shame they didn't make a matching set really.

In other news, I've put about ten hours in to Zelda over the weekend, having left it for a while. Up to about 35 hours now, and really just loving going round unlocking towers and doing shrines. The game is amazing, the tension when you're trying to sneak past a bunch of Guardians to climb a tower is incredible. Such a mind blowing world to be in, the game becomes a lot more interesting once you've unlocked a few extra slots for your weapons etc. Took me ages to fund the Kurok seed guy again but finally managed to locate him yesterday at the Riverside stables!

That voxel game, The Touryst was the standout for me in that presentation.

Looks lovely and had some cool puzzle ideas 😎.

Yeah loved the look of that. And the one from Chucklefish. Wouldn't mind trying Ori, too.

I wasn’t keen on the look of the new Chucklefish game, in fact I can vividly remember thinking - meh.

But the voxel thing got me as soon as it showed that plane crashes in the jungle.

Ori, is nice but I never got as excited as everyone else did it seems.

There’s a Dragon Quest XI demo on the eShop. Not sure it will convince me to part with £50, but I’ll gladly give it a go!

So, Snake Pass or Yokus Island Express? I can afford one in the current sale. I really like MetroidVania games, and Pinball, but I'm also really intrigued by Snake Pass and the tactile movement of the snake. Any thoughts?

I’ve not played Snake Pass but I have played Yoku’s and thought it was great little 10 hour game that did some really exciting and fun things.

So I can recommend Yoku’s most certainly.

There’s a demo for Yoku. Give it a try... not to put a downer on it, but that’s what made a decision for me not to buy in a previous sale. I know a lot of people like it though, just wasn’t for me!

Oh yeah! I totally forgot I tried the demo on PS4 and enjoyed it  I was put off by the fact you couldn't play it properly on remote play which is usually a deal breaker for me.

Sold!

Reviews for Astral Chain are breaking, and they look quite promising, I may have to pick up a copy for the long weekend, if I can make myself put down Fire Emblem :).

Nintendo Direct tomorrow boiiiiissssssssss !!!!!!!

I think it's widely obvious the sort of things it'll include and the two longer looks it'll have, but I'm hoping for few little surprises or nuggets - SNES, themes and a new pad please !!
