Videogame Art
I'm hopefully going to be moving house at some point in the next few months, which will, with any luck, include a decent man cave. I'd really like to put up some quality videogame art, preferably concept art and wondered if anyone knows anwhere that sells this, or alternatively how I might get my hands on very high resolution images that I could perhaps then get printed on canvas.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

This excellent site might be a good starting point: http://deadendthrills.com/

another good source is probably good old reliable Google, Just do an image search on what you are looking for then hit up the Search tool and get it to only display large images, you can even specify a specific resolution

Re: Videogame Art
Reminds me, I was on this site today trying to think of reasons why I shouldn't buy this Mass Effect print:

There's some other great Mass Effect and Mirror's Edge art on there but they're all VERY expensive

Re: Videogame Art
They're ridiculously expensive given you can get a 20x30" Canvas Wrap for £48! That said, it's pretty stunning. I'd take the Tali and Miranda ones over it first though (if I had the cash).
Oh to be incredibly rich, eh?

Re: Videogame Art
I ended up printing my own from some hi-res assets I wrangled online. Cheap and easy.

that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for - some amazing pieces on there! Bit pricey though and seems to be US onlyBenjo321 wrote:Reminds me, I was on this site today trying to think of reasons why I shouldn't buy this Mass Effect print:

Re: Videogame Art
There are many printing places in the UK, both local and online that will do the same thing with any image you bring them. The key is finding an image high res enough. The site Leon gave is a great example. They'll come in considerably cheaper than $950 with glass and a frame too.Dante Fireseed wrote:that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for - some amazing pieces on there! Re: Videogame Art
Snapmad have some great prices for printing canvases and standard photos. Have used them for large prints before but not sure what their canvases are like.
Personally I think I'll get a Journey print done and just get a cheap frame from Ikea or something if the quality is ok, worth a punt for a tenner

Re: Videogame Art
I think something like Journey should print rather well too, a good mid test bed for it. Let me know how it goes, tempted myself, but am reluctant to splash on something like Alan Wake / Gears of War / Mass Effect where you need a high print quality for high clarity. A Journey one is definitely something I'd want.Benjo321 wrote:Snapmad have some great prices for printing canvases and standard photos. Re: Videogame Art
Well, I just got my Journey print done
20 x 16" from Snapmad £9.89
Ikea Frame £17 (pretty cheap and nasty but it'll do!)
Quality seems pretty good, well packaged and Snapmad were quick to deliver (ordered Thursday evening and came Monday)

very nice Benjo, think I may well get round to doing this once I'm moved, looks very good
Re: Videogame Art
I've only got room for a couple of things in the loft room where all my stuff is kept, but these 3
are up there and
That was bought by my missus (along with the Victory and Aperture Saftey poster) as a thanks for doing the decorating.
The only other things I need to get up are some Avengers prints
and my Dreamwave Transformers posters
I've been meaning to frame those to for the best part of 6 years :/

Re: Videogame Art
I adore that Portal 2 movie poster, always liked it. If I were to buy any ready made art it would like be that.
