Re: Shmups
Going through a dry spell as I’m trying to finish Steins Gate 0, but I’ll be back soon most likely with a run on a steam shmup I haven’t played much of when I get chance. Maybe exceed 3rd Jade Penetrate black package, which has to be the best game name ever.

Re: Shmups
The shmup people are easily startled, but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers.

Shmups aren’t the games you’re looking for.hazeredmist wrote: ↑December 9th, 2019, 8:19 am The shmup people are easily startled, but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers.
Re: Shmups
Played my new old U.N. Squadron SNES cart (flipped to 60Hz) last night. What a game!
Played it back in the days, but didn’t get into it as much then.
The map and objective choosing is a very cool addition from the arcade game. And despite there being a health bar, it’s far from a cake walk. After the opening stage, things get overwhelming quick and take some proper learning.

UN Squadron is a game that was burnt into my memory as a child, that only a few years ago I realised what it was.
My whole memory was built around the dudes face at the top of the screen.
Not played it in decades, would love to give it a go.

Re: Shmups
I might just get an Area 88 cart and run it on my Super Famicom.
This could be a nice little side dish over Christmas actually.

Re: Shmups
Sounds like a plan, to be honest.

Hm...
Is it absolutely necessary to kick-start some new beef first thing in the morning?
Anyway, I have it on good authority that Stanshall is alive and well. Currently going through a... ahem... Redhead Renaissance. I think he's just taking a break and I'd be very surprised if there was any bad blood involved whatsoever.
He'll be back before you know it, with or without your daily anxiety attack.
ESP Ra.De. sounds cool, can't wait for my M2 port to arrive in the coming weeks.
luv u

Antstream now has a load of cave shmups. It’s starting to get very good on there.

The owners of the IP get a small cut a la Netflix. Given they aren’t abandonware I’d prefer to do that and support the developers providing the service works of course.

Re: Shmups
What the hell, weren't you threatening me with barbaric acts of violence earlier this morning? This guy, I swear...
Yes, I'm here. No, I don't hate you. Yes, we're on good terms. No, there's absolutely no need to panic.
Now pretty please, with artificial sweetener on top, quit malfunctioning and go to bed.
