If you own the original version of Mafia 2 or 3 you get an upgrade to the Definitive Edition for free. Also apparently when the remake of 1 comes out, owning either of the others will give you a discount on that too.

It seems both versions are simply just ports/DLC bundles. No change in the games themselves, which is pretty disappointing. "Definitive Edition" usually implies more than that, and both games already had a DLC bundled version before. 3 had a lot of room for improvements too.

EDIT: Not sure if it's really worth going back to this post, but I guess it doesn't hurt to correct the record. Turns out Mafia 2 is actually a remaster after all, with higher res textures, a new lighting engine, and a couple of other minor effects. Originally when I made this post I had looked at some footage, but nothing stuck out to me as being obviously different. But after seeing more direct comparisons, it seems there is actually a reasonable amount of work has been done on it.

Hmm, I wonder if it counts if you own Mafia 2 via PS Plus...? I do, but my sub has lapsed. Worth looking in to whether paying for a month of plus would get me the remaster of 2. I wouldn't mind playing it again.

EDIT: Damn. Steam only.

On the xbox one at least for Mafia 3 all it does is make all the existing DLC free.

It’s not clear yet whether owning the 360 version of Mafia 2 gets you free access to the XBO ‘remastered’ version, or just a discount.

Big week for Switch for remasters! It'll be interesting to see how they run on the console. They should be fine, but you never know how badly a port can be messed up till you see it running I guess.

I suspect we will be seeing more remastered games during this weird situation.

It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of devs/pubs have a few of these remasters kept back for a rainy day.

That's been rumoured to be the case for the Metroid Prime Trilogy for years now. It's supposedly been ready to go for ages. My theory was that they were waiting until Prime 4 was closer to get people interested in the series again, but since that got pushed way back to restart development, they pushed back the Trilogy remaster too.

I'd be surprised if this touted Trilogy collection comes out in June, as rumoured. I can't see them having no build up for it whatsoever. Just doesn't seem likely to me. Hopefully I'll be eating my words in a couple of weeks...

Really want to play the MK11 DLC and beat people up as Robocop :x

I've convinced myself it'll be on sale on Stadia early on.

This Bug Fables game looks really nice. Very Paper Mario inspired, and great reviews on Steam. Came to consoles today (Switch, PS4 and presumably also Xbox).

Added, obviously, to my Wish List.

Bioshock, Borderlands and Xcom all out for Switch today. The Borderlands and Bioshock collections are also available as individual games, which I'm pleased about.

If anyone is looking for The Outer Worlds on Switch, it's only £35 on CD Keys.

Is it just me or does 51 worldwide games look like the most polished version of a boring compendium of classic games?

I'm sure its gonna be a hit, though. It's just odd enough of a release for it to work.

I think that's exactly what it is, or at least that's how I've viewed it. It's the sort of thing I might pay a tenner for just for sheer volume of mini games to play with the kids, but I'm not really interested in paying any more.

My step mum had the DS version of it and played it a *lot*. It’s not really targeted at gamers like us.

I mean, I'm considering picking it up just so I can learn the rules to games like Hanafuda and Mahjong.

Oh yeah, I didnt mean to come across as negative on it. It looks so well presented for just a bunch of old games, innit

Shantae and the Seven Sirens came out the other day, but it seems to have not gathered any attention at all. I've seen basically no mention of it.
