I actually forgot about this thread. Might as well post a song I've been listening to recently.

Tiny bit biased here (with another N64 track) but Dire Dire Docks is superb! Another melancholy track which really touches my gooey bits. Steady!

Glad I posted now, that ZOE2 tracks dictated what game I'm playing next.

It's odd but that's the first time I've heard dire, dire docks outside of the game and I never even noticed the part where drums kicked in and it went all happy. Both better than my shit at a wall approach of just sticking the entire album on there

Skyrim OST has finally made it to Amazon £7.49 and iTunes for £14.99! :D I've been checking every week since it came out.

This is a really great soundtrack that doesn't get the attention it deserves. It did a flawless job of setting a tone, but was really catchy and infectious too.

You have to wait 30 seconds for this track to kick in, but once it does...man!

So it turns out that Tappi Iwase pretty much nicked the MGS theme from 20th Century Russian composer Georgy Sviridov:

So shocked to know about the MGS theme, I searched for more information and realised it was actually quite known a few years ago.
Found this video of Russian games magazine journalists letting Kojima-san listen to the tune:

Watching this, I felt sorry for Kojima-san, as it's not his fault, but apparently this is why that theme wasn't in MGS4 or Peace Walker.
I couldn't find any official information, and no idea if it was legally resolved. It's a shame and feels awkward although I'll still keep loving the MGS theme. :?

Ah man that's gotta be a kick in the balls. I felt that from here!

Were those Russians sort of giggling? Were they thinking it was a funny thing to do? If you were to do that, surely you'd be a bit more sincere.

 did not expect this and by the looks of it neither did Kojima it's a shame that the song wasnt used in later games because of this, but to be honest if I was russian I would be upset that someone was using a song of a famous composer without giving him any credit, the funny thing is that it was the MGS series that made wanna read and study about Russian history and culture,I guess it all comes full circle.
