Re: Videogame Deals
Figment, a nice looking game set in someone's mind (I think) is only £2.33 (87% discount or something) on Switch at the moment. I picked it up on the visual style alone, but was pleased to see it's reviewed well too. Looks like an action adventure puzzler type affair.

3DS fans: a bunch of Atlus 3DS games have been discounted by 50-87% on the eShop. Many of these are now very expensive to buy physically. I have physical copies but buying digital versions and selling a few would pay for a PS5...!
Highlights:
- Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends Of The Titan £4.49
- Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl £4.49
- Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight £4.37
- Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers £4.49
- Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker £4.37
- Persona Q: Shadow Of The Labyrinth £4.49
- Culdcept Revolt £4.99

Re: Videogame Deals
Burnout Paradise Remastered is only £7.50 on the Switch eShop at the moment. Picked it up, despite not being a huge fan of open world racing games. Seems nice to tear around in, despite some glaring design flaws that simply wouldn't fly these days.

Cool! I'm interested in trying out an Etrian Odyssey. Are the Untold games still the full Etrian experience or should I get IV?radaxian wrote: ↑August 7th, 2021, 3:57 am 3DS fans: a bunch of Atlus 3DS games have been discounted by 50-87% on the eShop. Re: Videogame Deals
I'm not an expert, but I've played a little of Untold 1 and quite a bit of 4. The Untold games are remakes of the first two games which allow them to be played either with the full flexibility of the original release "classic mode" (choose all party members and classes etc), or in a more directed mode with a pre-set party "story mode". You might be fine starting with 4, but Untold was really designed to make things easier for new players so that's probably your best bet.ColinAlonso wrote: ↑August 7th, 2021, 12:22 pm Cool! To my mind the core of the series is working through the dungeons and drawing the maps, and I don't think playing with a slightly more constrained party takes much away from that, so I'd suggest starting with Untold in story mode. If you find that too restrictive or feel like you're missing the full experience, you can always just switch to classic mode too.
Re: Videogame Deals
Nice looking shmup/explore 'em up, Earth Atlantis, is currently at a big reduction and about £1.30 or something on Switch. It's been well reviewed, and looks like a sepia-tinged sketch pad graphical style. Had a quick go last night, and it seems quite interesting. Lots of bosses, power ups, nice soundtrack...
Re: Videogame Deals
There's a load of OG Xbox and 360 games on sale on the Xbox online store at the moment. I literally only added Metal Gear Rising and MGS 2&3 HD collection to my wish list a couple of days ago, and here they are with 75% off (£3.74 each). Nice!
Re: Videogame Deals
Now that is a bargain. I'm half tempted to give rising a go just to finish off that bloody final boss.

Re: Videogame Deals
Ha, I think I'm getting worse at games these days, I've had a few lately where I've just given up at the final boss because I couldn't do it after days/weeks of trying
Re: Videogame Deals
FYI for frugal gamers. PlayStation has had a wishlist feature for a while now, but they've now added an update so that you get sent an email if a game on your wishlist is on sale, like Steam does.

Remedy 3rd person shooter, Control: Ultimate Edition, is currently, erm.. 29p for PC via CD Keys.

I didn't like it, personally, but at that price if you've not played it, it's not going to cost you much to find out.
