Finished the main story last night at 76% completion.
Have to admit, much as I absolutely loved the game (one of my favorites of the year, no doubt) the ending was a disappointment. Felt like the story just kind of stops.
Still, loved the ride up to then, though.

I finished it recently too, I didnt LOVE it and although the missions did get a bit better as it went along I though a great deal of them weren't great, its extremely fussy, you've got this massive open world, full of possibilities and you are led along the a narrow path and fail if you step on the grass. I liked the first heist, and the set up missions for the heist were enjoyable, I even found myself role playing the different characters, getaway car? Franklin. Weapons? Trevor. Some of the missions are cool purely for novelty value. The most fun is just getting a sanchez and gunning it up to the hills and exploring the amazinf world. Its crazy how theyve done it on current gen.

As for the ending. Agreed SPOILERS
- Spoiler: show
- What option did you pick Sean?

- I went with Deathwish. I kind of wanted to go with option A, but, wanted to see how C played out, first.

- Spoiler: show
- me too I nearly went with A and regret not doing so, I just thought what would Franklin do? I think the ending would have had more impact if I had picked either of the other 2, C feels like a cop out. Fun/ satisfying though it was to kill all the guys who wronged you

Looks like GTA Online is live now on 360 but not yet on PS3. Both were scheduled for midday.

I fully expect a few glitches on launch week, but I hope they can be put down to it being so feature packed!
Everyone got their custom plates? (The only thing worth getting iFruit app for!)

As predicted, it's a complete mess! I've created numerous characters and seen the lovely intro a few times now. I did get into an open world once and a few people were super laggy, driving about with nothing to do.
Reminded me of APB!

Strange they've delayed it and it's still a mess.

Just spent an hour trying to get in and even in a solo game it freezes up at the first race marker. Trying anything other than solo gets a fail to host message.
Real shame - if anyone was to get this right I thought it would be Rockstar.

I'm not even going to try playing Online yet. Think it's a bit poor that yet again, a major game comes out and the company goes "oh, we didn't realize it'd be so popular, we need to sort more servers out". Must be annoying for people trying to get it to work. I'm mainly a offline player these days, and if the update is too big for my puny connection, I'll give it a miss.
Finished the story at 40 hours last night, still plenty to do though. Went through all 3 endings, only liked one of them to be honest.

There's people saying that when it dies it's taking their single player saves with it.
Probably want to finish that before diving into multi...

I can't even get my PS3 version to update to 1.01 at this point, the screen just goes black and the console locks up.

Wow, the single player corruption thing is really bad. I figured the launch would be rocky, but some of the biggest fans (who want to get in there straight away) might be getting 30 or 40 hours of single player progress wiped?
That doesn't seem like it can be down to server load. I really don't think that should have been released.
Hope it hasn't affected anyone here. I tried before I read about that, but luckily it just sat on the 'finding game' screen after opening.

Yeah. The ONE thing that musn't happen - erasing single player saves - seems to have happened.

That sucks! Sorry to hear that Leon.
Is it platform specific? I'm obviously on 360 and whilst I actually got into some games online it was clearly struggling, the first time it skipped the intro and just dropped me into the world. Literally dropped me in. From, like, 50m high. It made me laugh. The second and third times played the full intro (the second time most of the environment was missing or took a long time to load in, third time was perfect) but both resulted in freezing when entering the first race (a known error.) Unfortunately exiting on all 3 occasions resulted in my created character disappearing, but that's no big deal really. The SP saves disappearing is where it hurts, but neither me nor my friend (W1DGET) had issues loading up SP afterwards thankfully.

No, thankfully it hasn't happened to me, but apparently it has happened to some people.

Headed back to GTA online after hearing that some people managaed to get it going but for me, it's still an exercise in seeing too many loading screens and an infinite "waiting for players" menu.
SADFACE.

I had a PS3 update this morning and wondering if that's anything to do with the GTA V. Been quite telling in some of the support comments that Rockstar are "Working closely with Sony and PSN"
Needless to say the update has frozen at 99% and I'm genuinely scared to turn the fucker off!
Seen some whispers today of the GTAV disk not reading after the update too. Fingers crossed!
Anyone else had the same issue?

Wowser. Fustercluck.
Had more faith in Rockstar than this! (Despite their involvement with LA Noire

)
