Re: Overwatch
You have to add the RatsoAlbion#1234 number at the end. I'm on PC too my battle.net name is skidoosh#2682. I managed to sweet talk a cheap code off a mate who decided he didn't want it after all

Re: Overwatch
I had no idea there even was a number after my name, had to go looking for it: RatsoAlbion#2544
Re: Overwatch
Weird I havent recieved it I sent another to you through overwatch instead of battle net, but I dont know if that's gonna make difference
Re: Overwatch
I too got it on PC! It's all I've been playing this week. My bnet is Hakkha#1308
I think the play of the game is a seriously cool idea. It's exciting when playing with friends and someone from your group gets it at the end of a match. I'd really like to be able to save my highlights though. It feels odd that they didn't include any way to do that, but I imagine they will with a patch some day.

Re: Overwatch
Just added Hakkha#1308. Can't see your request yet Todinho. I'll have a look in game after mate
Re: Overwatch
I wonder if it's because Im on the Americas and you guys are on Europe so maybe that's issue because I cant think of another reason.
Re: Overwatch
I've just looked into it. Apparently Battle.net is really sketchy on cross region support. That's pretty pants if I'm honest. If PSN can handle it, I'm sure they could too!
Re: Overwatch
So, I've managed to squeeze in about 15 hours across the PS4 and PC and I'd like to field a view on the map construction. My observation is that they don't seem to flow very well. Maybe I've just been spoilt by games like Titanfall where if I'm a point A and I need to get to point B I love the act of making my way there. If there's a building in the way an I move inside, I already know there'll be a route out that'll keep me moving in the same direction.
In overwatch more often than not I'll move into a building on my way to the objective only to meet a dead and or to be redirected back towards my spawn. In escort if you're on the attacking team they flow very well. If you're on the defending team I find the opposite is true. It's not a game changer, it's still amazing. I just feel in team based shooters traversal traversal is always a large part of the experience.
I'd be really interested in hearing what everyone else thinks about this? Or other aspects maybe?

Re: Overwatch
A few times I've hit dead-ends while trying to get back into the action. But I don't play very many multiplayer shooters so I didn't know if that was par for the course or not. I used to play a lot of TF2 though, but I'm not sure how the level design compares. Haven't thought much on it.
Also, I can't see the friend request either. I'm in the US so I guess that is the issue.

Re: Overwatch
To be fair for a first attempt, it's a pretty solid effort. I just feel that every other shooter I play or have played like Titanfall, Battlefield 4, Killzone, etc. Seem to have the free movement of the player from current location to the objective nailed. But, that being said all of the games I mentioned have teams that have been making shooters for a long, long time.
This cross region support on PC is pretty sucky :-S

Re: Overwatch
I assume the same isn't true with WoW, Hearthstone etc.?skidoosh wrote:This cross region support on PC is pretty sucky :-S
Is this something specific to Overwatch due to the nature of the game*, or simply because they haven't fully/properly implemented it yet..?
*Doesn't seem necessary given the many other FPS games that are enjoyed across the world by folks playing one another from several thousand miles away.
Re: Overwatch
I'm not sure what it is. I make the request via the battlenet app and no one in the Americas region sees it. Todinho made a request to me and I didn't see it. I'll keep googling and see if I can work it out.

Re: Overwatch
Hearthstone doesn't have cross region play at all. You can play on any of the three servers by switching it in the battle net preferences but you have effectively separate accounts on each (with its own card collection) so in practice only the pro players do it.
It's a Battle.net thing, they've always kept the us, eu and Asia regions separate on their own servers.
On the consoles they're most likely using the underlying Xbox live or ps+ set up, which has 'soft' region locking, in that you can play with friends from any region, but the random matchmaking will favour ping so you'll stay within region most of the time.

Re: Overwatch
Hmmm, interesting. But WoW definitely allows cross-region play - I know plenty of Brits who have made friends with US folk and vice versa in that game.

Re: Overwatch
With WoW you pick a server to play on, and when you start a new character it recommends ones in your region, but early in the games life all the servers were in the US I think. World of Warcraft existed long before the current incarnation of Battle net as well (even though what was there before was also called battle net. It's confusing).
I know when I went back to WoW last month that the entire character creation and log in flow was utterly different from when I played it originally.

Re: Overwatch
What happens if you merge your WoW account with your battle.net account? Would it nuke your friends from the other server regions?
Re: Overwatch
Well I tried to avoid it but I'm in and the first night was perfect. As with sfv, u4 and fire emblem fates there's been a lot of believing the hype this year. Hope to see some of you on there some time.
Went console with this for a few reasons but if anyone's on ps4 don't bother with messages just jump in.

Re: Overwatch
As far as i know, when it comes to WoW, region is fixed to your game purchase in battle net account. Quick google got me to this post from customer service.
I think its safe to assume that all blizzard game work like that.
Also if EU team wants a noob who started playing two days ago my battle tag is Masctat#2893
While post was from 5 years ago it kinda goes in sync with what im hearing from youtubers and streamers who play on both US and EU servers. They have two WoW accounts.... there is no way to transfer accounts or characters between regions. Whilst Battle.net accounts are essentially global and region neutral, WoW accounts are permanently bound to the region they were created for.
Regrettably this means that the only solution is to purchase a new WoW account once in the US and start over; it can be added to the same Battle.net account though.
