I certainly only have interest in playing this with friends, playing with randoms sounds horrible.

Random sis usually a nightmare. But every so often you meet so good peeps in game. Is the bad sport system working to remove the griefers?

I think it's something that develops organically overtime (if it works at all)

Definitely the way to play. It's an absolute riot. Thankfully they put in a voice to "Crew", "Friends" and "Crew & Friends" option for in-game, which means you don't *need* the Party Chat option on 360, makes the PS3 version fine to play as you can isolate yourself away if need be.

This game is amusing online, my friend W1DGET bought an apartment and I went to visit him and as we were looking around random people were buzzing his door to get in. Not sure how they knew his apartment had people in, but it was really weird seeing random people coming into his house.

Also, singing in the shower for RP is pretty funny.

I've kind of burnt out quite fast on this GTA. I've just done my second heist, and I think I'm going to put it down for a bit and play some other stuff. I certainly think it is the best GTA so far, with a fantastic sense of place and character switching mechanic, but the drive to X then Y missions in between the high points are turning me off a bit.

I'll dip back in now and then and probably finish it one day, and maybe try some online if we have a game night (and if I can get in!).

Just started the collectables, whether I'll actually go through them all is another matter. Doing all those pigeons in GTA IV was bloody soul destroying, even with a guide.

Finally finished the main storyline last night. I've had a brilliant time with the single player over the past three weeks, but the ending felt flat to me. Spoilers after the jump:
Spoiler: show
As nice as it was to finally take out the FIB agent and Devin Weston, both assassinations were so easy I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed and wonder why I hadn't been able to do this 20 hours ago. I at least expected a huge police chase after taking out Steve Haines, but all you get is a two star rating that is easily evaded by driving off the end of the pier and swimming in the sea for a bit. I don't know if the other two endings are very different (I'll be You Tubing them tonight) but given that in my ending all three of the main characters walked away with a shed-load of money I suspect that the story will continue with DLC

That's the only ending I thought was any good, the other two are pretty poor in my opinion.
Spoiler: show
Kill Trevor! Or Kill Michael. And potentially screw yourself out of completing their individual missions. Also, you'd surely have to kill both, so why would the people forcing you be happy if you only kill one?

Anyone fancy a game of golf on this tomorrow evening?

Loving the mission types. Its unlike other online games with variety. I enjoyed the sniper mission where you have to protect another player as he gets the goods. Felt I had a Mission Impossible team going for a while.
And that was with randoms!

:P

(I did have an entire week of character loss though. It seems to be over now.)

Any easy way to help find collectibles or is a guide the best way to go? I thought u could use Chop to help find stuff.

Chop is only any use if you have the ifruit app to train him up. I don't have a smartphone, so I've left him neglected since I got him.

Using the official guide I got from Amazon for £7. Seen it for that price at Tesco as well.

I think you can see the locations of things on the Rockstar Social Club website? Might only be missions etc.. rather than the collectibles though...

You can definitely find letter pieces on there too.

Cheers folks social club sounds like a good starting point. I might try using chop as well I have the app but u have to keep using it every few hrs to keep his happiness rating high. I think u should have just been able to unlock special abilities for him or extra games to play through the app instead of it being a shite tamagotchi.

Online seems to be more stable now, and Rockstar is giving everyone free GTA$ after a horrrific launch period. May put some time into it.

I am really enjoying GTA:V, but the lack of an interesting female character is a bit of a sticking point. After the awesome characters in Red Dead Redemption, like Bonnie, this feels like a bit of a step back. /imo

I agree, it is a shame. It's also why my created character in GTA Online had to be a woman, because, even without the speaking, it's nice to just have the option to control one around the city. I'm hoping GTA VI has a really strong female presence, not only in the supporting cast, but also as a playable character.

Pulling up to someone in a car, beeping the horn so they jump in then driving them in to the desert to murder them just kept me entertained for far longer than it should.

Hopefully gameplay isnt being monitored by the psychiatric ward of the local secure hospital. Haha.

Played a bit more Online, it's really a mixed bag. Deathmatches/Team Deathmatches absolutely suck. Big time. It's bad enough that you can be put against people with better guns/armour than you (anyone that cries "COD is unbalanced" clearly doesn't know how lucky they are not to play this shit). To top that, the ammo you use is out of your hard-earned cash.Fuck off.

Thankfully, hardly anyone I've played ever votes for them, instead going for races. Which are quite fun. Although I did get put in one Rally race where my driver decided to ignore my directions and piss about driving into trees, off cliffs etc. It soon occured to me that unless we went through checkpoints, the race was never going to finish. 5 minutes of utterly driving like a prick, I quit out. And get told I'm a "bad sport". Fuck off.

Done a few Missions, only to come up against one that involves stealing two cars and returning them. Though it says "For 1 to 4 players", playing it alone is frankly tedious, as just catching one is a ball ache, then you've got to avoid the cops, then try to catch the other car. Which by now is halfway across the map. Fuck off.

It's early days, but so far it's not doing much for me.
