Hey to all the new folks!

If you're looking for some folks to play Destiny with then feel free to add me on the PSN if you haven't already (PSN: Krylon70). Usually on for at least a couple of hours every day. If I not already with a full fire team, don't stand on ceremony - just jump in (although I prefer it if you're on mic too).

I've been messaged to say Xur is selling Icebreaker. I'm rather pleased by this...

I picked up a weird gun and it looked crappy (husk of the pit), so I melted it down for bits,
turns out it's a rare drop and you can level the gun up and it turns into a pretty good weapon.

Xur is selling the "ice breaker" sniper if anyone's keen to get that.
I'm short on strange coins, and don't really know of a quick way to get them :S

I did exactly the same thing when I got it. Fortunately it'll come around again (it's given when killing the sword bearing Knights of Crota that randomly spawn on the Moon and Earth) as I got again the following week and now have a Legendary Eidolon Ally

Polygon picked up an interesting thread on the Destiny sub-Reddit in which gave tips as to how to get Strange coins such as:

Weekly Heroic (9 coins on lvl 30)
Blue Engrams (ROC Strikes)
1 Strange coin for doing the Draksis mission for the first time per character
1 Strange coin for getting the gold Chests on Mars per character
The daily gold public event package at the Postmaster
Faction level-up packages

Whilst I would avoid the Faction one unless you're an avid Crucible player since they give you crucible marks rather than Vanguard and the ROC playlist is only available to those with the DLC, the public events and the weekly Heroic are definitely worth pursuing.

If it's ascendant materials you're after then the Daily Heroic story mission and again, the public events are the ones worth doing.

If anyone is level 27 (the game allows players three levels below the mission level to join) and wants/needs strange coins from the level 30 weekly, then give me a shout as I'll be happy enough to help out.

It's quite amusing now because almost everyone appears to be using this gun. My hope is that Gjallarhorn is gonna be available soon too as I wondered if Bungie decided to release these almost mythical weapons via Xûr because they're releasing the hard mode for Crota's End this week? Since it'll pit you against level 33 enemies and since the highest level anyone can get at present is 32, I thought that the weapons would help with the difficulty somewhat. Anyway, I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

No, as I already had it and since we can only have one exotic piece of armour equipped I tend to favour the Armamentarium as it gives me more special/heavy ammo and two grenades.

I didn't get a chance to actually play any destiny over the weekend, but I was poking around on the destiny wikia page and I've only just noticed the amazing amount of detail on all of the weapons and armour.
Stuff that people probably never notice but someone at Bungie cared enough the every surface and every object seems to have been considered.

I'm hoping to get some time online tomorow, thanks to work I'm very limited this week though. Just glad I got Ice Breaker in time

Have been on it for a few hours tonight was about to finally do some on line co-op with you guys then duty calls. one day i will do this lol

popped on last night, just to see if I could wrap up a few patrol missions...
I ended up doing 6 moon patrols, 6 Venus patrols, 3 public events, nexus strike, daily strike and weekly strike. Managed to wrap 9 bounties along the way.
Got myself a ton of vanguard marks, and I'm working my way closer to the lovely armour!

I got some destiny lessons from Jay as well and some great help form a few other people who dropped into the game to help out,( sorry if you're on here and I've forgotten your names!)

I picked up an exotic helmet from Xur on Friday in prep for when my warlock hitting the high levels. Might make a Hunter too. Time to multiple character it up on Destiny.

I've got 14 strange coins, so I'm crossing my fingers for something useful from xur on friday

Top yourself up as sometimes items are 17+. 9 coins for the weekly on level 30, reset day today
Can't see there being anything overly decent with Ice Breaker last week. That was a real treat. Wonder how people who missed it are realising now!

Well, I'm stuck at level 25 until I can buy better armour, so the level 30 weekly is out of my reach.
I did the next one down last night, and I got a solid whooping! I had the best of intentions, but it's tough when your weapon is only doing a quarter it's regular damage.

It's good to know that 17 is the upper limit, I'm sure I can manage 3 more coins by the weekend, I'm excited!

I've just noticed as well that I can trade in the stuff I've been collecting for vanguard marks, so I have a use for my giant stacks of spirit bloom!
