Mighty Switch Force

Whilst the game was a little hit and miss for many (although I actually really liked it), the menu screen music for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising by Johna Marrows was rather good in a melancholy, atmospheric kinda way. I've always liked the sound of Mongolian throat singing - very distinctive.

Had the NiGHTS music in my head for over a week now so I'm sharing the sega love, too many to choose from so complete pot luck

Here's another bunch of my favourites of recent years.

An obvious choice perhaps made famous when coupled with that trailer, but there's little denying it's quite an evocative piece of music in its own right.





Sadly, this particular piece of music wasn't included in the actual soundtrack album for Ninja Theory's post apocalyptic take on the classic tale.





Whilst the game, by most accounts, wasn't up to much I always liked the main theme.





Then we get to this one which I like because a.) It marries several styles into one track b.) It's rather long in a good way c.) It's kinda batshit crazy

Al82's post reminded me this hadn't popped up yet...

I really like that C&C music!

Although this isn't technically from a video game, it's honestly really hard not to think of this game when I listen to Carter Burwell's Millers Crossing score these days.





Whoever thought of marrying that trailer to this music should be applauded as it was about as perfect a combination as one could have wished for.

I really wish EA would do a modern remake of this game...

Some really great stuff here. I'm glad to see Darksiders 2 getting some love, that's a great soundtrack. I also appreciate Skyrim, Fez, Mirror's Edge and of course Zelda. And on that note...



I've also had this soundtrack in my head recently. I really love it.

Recently been playing a lot of this and was impressed by the score by Ron Fish & Nick Arundel

and this always made me laugh back in the day

So a fan remix album of the Majora's Mask soundtrack was just released, called Time's End. As soon as I heard it I knew I had to get it myself. Not only because it's really hard hard to find any decent covers of that soundtrack, but this one is astounding. Just listen to this:



You can either download it from the main website here, or donate on the Bandcamp page here. I personally went for the latter option. Seemed way too good to take for free.

It's in all three of the Max Payne games, it just alters every time and yes, it is a fantastic piece of music.
