Had a pretty good gaming on Destiny last night.
probably a little too much running away and hiding on my part, but I understand why people have been enjoying the ice-breaker so much now! pew pew pew!

Nothing really that I want from Xur this week. I'd love some Titan armour for my defender class, either that or something that works across both of my titan classes.

Are there any playstation people still playing?
Now I'm up to level 30 I'd love it if I could organise a run through the Vault of glass

I'm hoping to have a go at the vault of glass this Thursday. I'm expecting the attempt to take a few attempts, last time, I had a go, we did one "section" per night.
Even if we don't make it all the way, though, I'm hoping it should be a good fun evening.

I'm still on a lot - hit level 32 the other day so I'm happy. Raiding regularly and chasing certain weapons, very much entertained. Need to work on other characters now.

RoboticMonk3y - if I saw this in time I would have said, if you have the strange coins you should not miss out on Red Death... Did you get it? Pulse rifles have had a 100% damage buff and Red Death has health regeneration too which will help on Crota hard mode. It's also very rare in terms of drops... Well worth getting.

Thrilled Destiny got GOTY at the Bafta awards. Thoroughly deserved for me.

I wanted the red death, but I didn't have enough for it. I was aware it was a good weapon, but I didn't have the free hours in the week to stack my coins up.
I think really, I could do with getting a legendary titan defender armour piece.
I'm playing mostly as defender right now, especially after unlocking the "weapons of light" perk, but my helm is for the striker class.

Fair do's - make sure you do Crota raids for that armour, if you buy Vanguard armour it will just end up useless as it only goes to light level 33.

That's a good shout!
I've currently got all vanguard armour, I've had a couple of pieces from the raid, but they've all been hunter armour, perhaps it's time I start an alt?

I'm looking forward to my run at the vault of glass tomorrow night, hopefully I can snag enough people.
I happened to stumble across some people who were taking a run, most of them were at level 26-27. I hung out and helped them open the gate, and it was one of those amazing gaming moments, where I had random people pointing at me and waving. I tried to chase them into the gate, but I'm guessing that you can't get all the way through the caves if you're not on a raid, I got lost and only found dead ends.

Yeah alts is where I fall down, last night I was doing multiple Nightfalls to help my friends out and I only get rewards once, they get 3 as they all have 3 characters. I watched one mate get Gjallahorn for the third time on the second run... Beyond raids, nightfalls/weekly and bounties I need to stick to levelling up my Warlock who is a pitiful 11 at the moment. I've got loads of legendary engrams & exotic armour waiting for when he hits 20, should shoot it right to 28/29. Then you can raid, nightfall multiple times a week and get twice the rewards.

An easy way is to level up another of the same class, then you just switch your armour and your level 30 becomes two level 30s instantly with armour swaps. Not sure if I'm going to do that though, I fancy one of each class and I don't get the time to run as many raids as my mates.

Picked up a nice sniper rifle from the Nightfall and Swordbreaker from a ridiculously quick zero cheese 28 minute Crota normal run. So can't complain 8-)

you see,
I like the idea of having one of each class fully levelled up, because it means I'll never end up with drops that I can't use, but I don't think that I have the time to hold up one high level character, let alone 3.
I can ceratinly see the merits of being able to get yourself 3 sets of strange coins from the nightfall strike though, it makes buying anything from Xur a breeze.

Man, the vault of glass really is amazing.
I got walked through what to do, which was really helpful.
It kinda blows my mind to think that people had to work out how to do that on their own without any kind of guide.

I had my head wrapped around the first part of the Raid, but when we got to Atheon, even though I had a rough idea of what was going on, panic kinda took over on a few occasions, lucky for me, no one else got too cross with me for messing up and causing a wipe.

I was also surprised that we managed to go through with only 5 of us, I can certainly see how an extra man would have taken off some of the pressure!

Very enjoyable.

Wipes are common (it was a bit glitchy in places particularly at the Templar secion) and you will find people are more than happy to help others through the raids - everyone has to do their first one sometime! Don't get worried about dying or causing wipes, everyone goes through it. My two mates in the group last night are excellent at the game and raid multiple times each week, which I think helped with there being 5 of us. Also three of us were level 32 which helps, particularly on a normal VOG. Now you see the mechanics from start to finish it will get easier each time :D

There's still Crota's End for you to try too!

well, like I say, I appreciated it, had a lot of fun.

I think I need to do the crota strikes to get some better gear. Xur isn't selling anything I want again this week I'm going to do the nightfall at the weekend and save up my coins!

Yup - unless you do Iron Banner or Crota raids you won't hit 32. At least at the moment.

Pondering Hard Light but I already have Monte Carlo which matches it for stats pretty much. Might give it a miss.

I'm tempted, because a while back I swapped out to auto-rifles, and enjoyed holding down the trigger to make things go boom, but since the last patch, pretty much everything apart fro auto-rifles got a stat boost, so I've gone to using a scout rifle.
I found it mildly amusing that I got one of the most sought after sniper rifles on the same week that shotguns got a 100% increase in power. I can do more damage point blank with a shotgun than from way back with a sniper. I kinda enjoyed standing my ground while a pretorian runs at me, sidestepping, then doing a shotgun-melee to take them down.

I'm not really too sure what to do about pushing for level 32. I'm happy that I got to 30, I'm looking forward to having another crack at the vault of glass. I remember you saying on the raid last night, that the rest of the game is kinda like training mode ready for the raid, and knowing what to do, as well as communicating leads to some amazing gaming. I just don't think I have the gaming time open to me to raid the number of times I would need to in order to get to 32.
It would probably be easier if I was doing the Crota raid, and got myself all raid gear, but I mostly play destiny with McFluffin, and he's not got the DLC. We were talking about it last night, and for him, it probably makes most sense for him to wait until the next DLC and go for that.

Things will change up and the level cap will go higher with the next DLC, it's still chargeable though and if McFluffin is up for it he should get the pack!

You only need to do one raid a week and you will hit 32 eventually - the armour you get from Crota raids goes to light level 36 and it drops frequently, I got mine quickly. Then get radiant shards from the Crota raids to level it up. It's either that or hit the ceiling of 31 I guess, up to you! Just bear in mind Crota raids start at level 30 and hard mode is 32, so you need to be 30+ to do anything in them really.

I guess it's pretty hardcore but my mates play a LOT more than I do and I've hit the level cap with only a single character in a pretty good time really. It's doable. But yeah you need the DLC (fair enough in my eyes, it's worth it. Some disagree)

Started myself an Alt character at the weekend, in an ideal world I'd like to end up with one of each class, so I can make use of any class dropped item.

It's odd playing with a massively reduced skil set when you're so used to having the full board of skills open to you.
I have noticed that I can choose from either sub-class from the start, I don't know if that's an error or not, but I'm not going to complain!

I'm pushing through the story with my warlock, and I've got up to level 5 already. I'm hoping that it's not going to take 2 days of gaming time to get myself up to a higher level, because I have a good idea of where I'm going with it all now.

I'm still enjoying Destiny, and I'm looking forward to the next DLC!

Cracking score last night on Crota's End hard mode. Picked up Fang of Ir Yût arc burn scout rifle and Abyss Defiant solar burn auto rifle.

Have been missing an arc primary up until now, so I finally have a full suite of burn weapons in all slots which should make the Nightfalls that little bit easier. Very pleased.

Nothing of note from Xur again this week,
Which is handy, because I didn't get many coins this week!

I'm still living in hope for better armour.
I've maanged to get another legendary bounty, and this time I'm going for the "bad juju".
The criteria for these legendary bounties is insane though! I have to do a ridiculous amount of raids.
I guess it will help me push toward the trophy for maxing out my weekly vanguard cap.
