Re: Dark Souls I & II
I finished Dark Souls II again (this time on PC). For my NG+, I'm going to try experimenting with different weapons, but I feel like it takes so much titanite to get them to a usable level, I can't afford to switch as often as I would like.

Join the bell covenant, I believe they reward you with titanite when u do their bidding!InsrtCoins wrote:I finished Dark Souls II again (this time on PC). Played DS2 for 25 hours now. Finally, I've "clicked" with this series. And absolutely love it. Had two difficult boss fights in the Bastille/Belfry area. And I've killed them all. Very tense, and I died a fair few times getting the gist of them. But once you're "in the zone", and the tension builds, each hit getting you closer to victory. Man, there's nothing else like it.
Brilliant game.

Re: Dark Souls I & II
I think im blasting through the game, even If im trying to explore the game as thoroughly as possible,I already got 3 of the 4 souls and I already reached the end of a couple NPC storyline but aparently Im still at the first half of the game so I dont know how long this game actually is,I aparently can go on to the second half even with 3 souls but since the Emerald Herald warned me against it I decided to clear eveything else before moving on,Im on Brightstone cove Tseldora now but I barelly explored the previous area so after I defeat the boss here

Re: Dark Souls I & II
Had my first easy boss fight in Huntsman Copse vs the Skeleton Lords. Seeing multiple bosses made me think "oh fuck, not again!".
But each one died in 4 hits, and their Skeletons died from one hit with my mace. Hardly got a hit on me. Very satisfying. No doubt the next boss will be more challenging.

Ok my bad forget everything I just said it seems the game wont end just yet even though it feels it should've but anyway I decided to go diving instead of making progress.
Re: Dark Souls I & II
After 40 hours think it's fair to say I finally "get" the Dark Souls series. Once I accepted I was bound to die, and stopped attacking like a maniac, it's been going well. Currently at 2 areas, Black Gulch and Iron Keep. Enemies in IK are dropping 850+ souls a go, and with them dying in 3 hits I'm levelling up/upgrading gear pretty quickly.

Re: Dark Souls I & II
I think I'm going to go back to this today. I've got bored beyond belief with AC4:BF. It's very rare I'll give up on a game once I've started but tedious isn't the word! (Well no actually, it's exactly the word..!)
Re: Dark Souls I & II
Any spoiler-free (or light spoiler) tips for playing the original Dark Souls for a player who has completed Demon's Souls?
Re: Dark Souls I & II
The combat is heavier so it may take some time to get used to,healing is very controlled this time so dont be reckless, the world is open so explore away and make notes, sorcery is kinda of ballanced now but still really usefull and the beginning of the game can be a bit of a though wall to get through so dont give up.And yeah humanity is a new thing that's important so pay attention to that and dont use it lightly.

Excellent advice! Many thanks.Todinho wrote:The combat is heavier so it may take some time to get used to,healing is very controlled this time so dont be reckless, the world is open so explore away and make notes, sorcery is kinda of ballanced now but still really usefull and the beginning of the game can be a bit of a though wall to get through so dont give up.And yeah humanity is a new thing that's important so pay attention to that and dont use it lightly.
Re: Dark Souls I & II
Spent most of the day on this, been quite productive. Cleared out Black Gulch (going through The Pit was a real pain). Can't quite kill the (hopefully optional) boss in Iron Keep though. Even with my Fire Ring, once he flames up i get battered pretty fast. Think I'll leave him for now.
Re: Dark Souls I & II
So I found out that exists something in Dark souls 2 called Power stance that's aparently vital to a dual wielding and I never used it...welp new game plus should prove to be very different now.
Re: Dark Souls I & II
Another near-full day. Levelled up loads in Iron Keep, made my way through a forest of invisible twats.Got my Morning Star up to +10.Still can't kill the Smelter Demon though, once he powers his flame up it's goodnight nurse. He's optional though, so bollocks to him.
Re: Dark Souls I & II
Cleared out Doors of Phoros and Brightstone, so that's 3 Great Souls down, one to go. Changed up some armour which has certainly helped. Faired a bit better against the Smelter Demon, not quite enough to kill him but getting there.
This will definitely be up there with 2014's very best games.

Re: Dark Souls I & II
Are you allowing yourself to use summons?Because if so you can summon Lucatiel to this fight she's pretty resilient and can get the boss attention so that you can catch a break it can be pretty usefull especially when he enters phase 2.
I started a new character yesterday(a deprived) and decided to impose a especial rule,I cant lvl up vigor so Im going all out glass cannon trying to use all sorta of spells to stay alive,I've been doing relatively well,I managed to take out the Pursuer earlier(thanks to my Heide's sword) and only died 5 times total twice to old Dragonslayer twice by falling off a ledge and once to the sentinels,my goal is to try and keep this death count bellow 20 but knowing some of the areas latter on I think it's going to be very difficult to do.
