Hi all, I'm Danny just signed up to the forums. Been listening to the podcast(s) for a few months now.

I got into gaming in the 90s, then didn't play much of them during my 20s and early 30s; not really sure how I fell out of it. I was gifted a Switch for Christmas 2017 with Zelda: BoTW then got back into it in a big way. It's been really interesting catching up. Really appreciate the tone and quality of Cane & Rinse as one of the sources to help me do that

I live in London and currently working as a musician/music teacher (drums). Prior to that, I was in Jiangsu Province, China, where I worked as an English teacher, musician, content writer and some other jobs.

Really love game soundtracks and have been devouring the Sound of Play podcast; thanks so much for this

Was glad to see you've got a thread going to online multiplayer. Any regular games still happening?

Welcome! I'm looking for someone to play Helldivers 2 with if that's your thing.

Hello all. Thought it was about time I introduced myself on here. Long form discussion about videogames is my jam and I've yet to find anything else on par with CaR.

I currently live in Glasgow and run a Bar & Kitchen together with my wife. I play a healthy range of games, both old and new and if any of you want to batter a powerfully average Street Fighter 6 player to death, i'm your guy. Otherwise, I look forward to chatting with you folks.

Hello! I don't have Street Fighter 6 but if you (on the slim chance) own the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for Switch I'd be well up for some online Street Fighter Alpha 3!

Hey! I've only recently found the podcast. Really enjoying it and already subscribed to the Patreon! Just love the positivity and the way the podcast is structured. Everyone seems to have a good level of respect and time for each other.

Anyway, I like walking my dog, playing the drums, having a beer and going on a good climb. I'm a software engineer in a pretty chill job (for a travel firm). Have several tattoos and a bad haircut currently!

Hello! I'm terrible/incredibly awkward at introductions, but I thought I'd better post a little something...

Found your podcast a good few months back and have been going through the outrageously substantial back-catalogue, enjoying the measured and considerate discourse from the whole team, so good work to everyone involved, past present and future :)

My gaming life started with the Acorn Archimedes (what was that all about?) and has continued since, currently hovering around Steam and PS4-based entertainment. Currently in the process of passing the obsession on to my son, who has nearly done everything in Tears of the Kingdom. Not quite everything, but nearly...

I can see myself being a very sporadic contributor, but rest assured I'm listening to every new podcast!

Hello all, I'm Stu. I've been listening to the podcast for a few years now and been meaning to sign up here for just as long... anyway, I play in a video game covers band called Segadeth and enjoy going back over the Sound of Play collection for inspiration.
I've been gaming ever since my dad brought home an Atari 800xl in the mid-80s. I'm currently battling my way through Elden Ring and the DLC, unsure if I'll ever manage to beat Promised Consort Radahn...

Hello all.

Long time listener, first time caller. I’ve been listening to the podcast for years, and have finally made the leap to joining the forum - I apologise for my tardiness.

I’ve been playing games all my life - my dad could not have known the path he was setting me down when he brought home a ZX Spectrum +2 and a handful of tapes that special weekend.

Born and raised in working class mining family, we didn’t have a lot of my money for games growing up, so I learned to appreciate the few I did have and loved them intensely (caning and rinsing them often, you could say).

My favourite consoles (which are all deeply rooted in personal nostalgia) are: Sega Master System, Sega Mega Drive and the Nintendo 64 - the N64 coinciding with my first job, so the first console I could regularly buy my own games for. I’ve also got a deep affection for early 90s DOS games.

These days I still prefer older games (or games that look old), but I’ll try my hand at anything with an open mind.

Anyway, hello, and great to be here.

Hi all!

I've only relatively recently discovered the podcast and have spent the last few months working through the backlog, and I'm gutted that it took me so long to find it!

Some of my earliest memories in life are the DOS games we had on the family computer, with some vague memories of pre-colour games, but more vivid memories of games like the original Duke Nukem, Hocus Pocus, Commander Keen and so on.

I've been heavily into games ever since, and while I have always been prodominently on PC, I do own every generation of Playstation, and my wife and I are slowly building up a collection of classic consoles so I can finally play some Nintendo games. I will give most types of games a go, but I do steer very clear of multiplayer unless it's local co-op. I like to pretend that it's because I prefer an immerse narrative experience over repetitive competition, but actually it's because I suck and I don't need my hobby to remind me of my failings.

I make videos on Youtube in my spare time where I talk about games as a series, because I'm looking for any excuse to just talk about games, which brings me back as to why I am so glad I discovered this podcast and this forum.

So yeah, hi! How're you? How did that thing go last week?
