Ah LOL. That will teach me to be so far behind with my listening/reading ;)

To be fair, I think a lot of our blog content goes unnoticed, even by many of the 'hardcore' community here!

Thanks very much for the Patreon donation by the way! x

Sign of the times perhaps. Do wish there was a more standardised way of delivering written content to an app in the same way as podcasts. Problem is most sites want you to come to them for the ads.
And more than welcome for the donation.
I'll stop now as I'm way off topic. 8-)

Been playing these over the weekend in preparation for the podcast. I know, fighting games are cheap completions, but I generally pop them on the tally when I finish Arcade Mode on Medium (in the absence of a more fleshed-out single player/story mode). Looking forward to chatting about these; once again, I'll be the relative newcomer, but it's fascinating to see how Street Fighter progressed in the frenzied aftermath of SFII.

26 completions and counting!

Well, I didn't play it at the time as I felt that I was more than happy enough with Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing.

I can see why so many PSone fans enjoyed it and why it reviewed so well as it's as slick as you'd expect from Naughty Dog, but in terms of an actual playing experience I'd much rather stick with any entry into the MK series or indeed DKR.

The subtlety of handling and balance of weapons just isn't there for me. Factor in the wobbly PlayStation polys and short draw-distance (often disguised with cresting hills and tight corners which make the game feel very 'twitchy' to me) and you've got (I think) a perfectly serviceable but slightly 'soulless' feeling karty racer.

I gather that the multiplayer was great fun back in the day though, certainly compared to DKR's anyway, and the single player campaign was more fleshed out than any Mario Kart game.

I got it free with PS+ years ago anyway, so it cost me nothing.

Fired up World Tour Mode this morning. I seem to remember having played it back in 2006, but WOW, this is expansive!

Indeed, I think it's a shame that such a mode never made it into any of the SFIV updates.

Single player hasn't been Capcom's focus for a while now. SFV launches with a bog standard per-character story arcade mode in it, although they have announced a more Netherrealm style story mode to be released as a free add-on in the summer. (I find it odd they'd mention that now, before release, as it opens them up to accusations of 'HALF A GAME!' in the same vein as Splatoon...)

It'd be great if the story expansion for SFV could emulate World Tour at all. I expect it'll be something more similar to the recent story modes of MK and Injustice, but I do like the (kinda World Warriors) feel of touring the globe fighting all comers.

Completed Volume on the Vita. A nice throwback to Metal Gear Solid VR Missions. Also if you are a trophy hunter, it's an easy platinum. Just make sure you read every text in every level cause if anything hold you back from the plat, it would be those.

An interesting interactive novel. I love that the dialogue is vague enough to allow you to fill in a lot of the pretext yourself. :ugeek:

Jan 16: Doom 3: Ressurection of Evil (Marine)
Jan 17: Doom 3: The Lost Missions
Jan 26: Rise of the Tomb Raider: The witch DLC thing Baba Yaga

What an excellent idea squandered in what felt like 5 minutes. Feel a bit short changed, really.

Lego Jurassic World on Vita. Always enjoyed the Lego series on Vita. This is one of the better games. Next up Lego Marvel's Avengers.

(Edit)

I also would like to add Three Fourths Home on Vita. A nice short story that really gets you thinking.

Actual Sunlight on Vita. A short story same as Three Fourths Home. It's quite hard hitting as it deals with themes of depression, anxiety and suicide. While I personally have never dealt with any of these matters I truly appreciate the perspective it presented. I felt maybe a bit helpless because I wanted to try my best to associate with the main character. I got it during the recent flash sale but it's only $5 and if you can handle the subject matter it is worth the try.
