ketsuipachi mode?
Is that "black label arrange" mode?
Yes, it is!

It's a version of DDPR BL that incorporates a number of elements from Ketsui. Really cool stuff. :)

No lives lost. Just before the final boss - https://streamable.com/d8pnv

It's as if I was trying to catch the bloody thing. I'd done all the hard work, look at the bloody gap I had to move in!
Right best take a break from that, look up "owl vs mangle" on youtube, that always cheers me up.

:(

You were even ahead of my previous record in terms of raw scoring at that point! Very sorry, man. I've died multiple times at those giant penultimate ships and it's the worst feeling in the world.

Have you turned WAIT back on, at least? I couldn't tell from the footage.

Anyway, don't give up!

Dear god, yeah wait is on, I'd fantasize about beating your score with wait off just to rub it in but I doubt that'd ever come true.

Hang on, this isn't something I should be worrying my pretty little head over is it?
You're a sly old thing, aren't you? Gonna sit there with your talons up watching me sweating my fat tits off and then when I finally burst in beaming with my little limp-dick score, you're gonna nonchalantly plonk down your new fat one.
Bet you've got it uploaded to youtube all ready to go.
I believe in you, "I believe you're an absolute turkey", that's what you're really thinking!

Your mind goes to strange places sometimes, you know?

No, I haven't planned any devious trap of that sort. I am however still playing the game regularly and noticing incremental progress, so I'm definitely still in the race!

EDIT: Besides, the in-game replay function saves the exact date of the run.

Danmaku Unlimited 3 is on offer, £4.04.

Can't say I have fully connected with this one yet (largely due to discovering older games I'd say) but I will go back to it.

Hmmmm, I just dragged a replay file into notepad and that's very easy to edit. I wouldn't bloody put it past you!
I'm onto you, owly.
and you've cursed me, don't think I haven't figured that out. It's not just a coincidence that I keep dying right near the end of the last stage to stupidly easy patterns.

Right here you go there’s my starter for ten, a pitiful effort where I got to the stage 3 boss before needing a continue:

Image

All together now “awwwwww”

I went for spirit mode on easy. That means it does auto bombs if you’re gonna get hit. Scoring potential is probably wank, but it’s the easiest mode. I guess pick whatever you fancy though it doesn’t matter, I doubt there are rules with this sort of n00b on n00b action! Haven’t tried much other than default stuff, no idea what ships do etc or different patterns, it seems fun without changing stuff so I haven’t bothered yet.

I have put a few goes into this since getting it but like I say it’s not clicked yet so it’s a good excuse to have a play! I’m gonna push on till my continues run out, would be nice to see all the stages, this is one where you don’t get infinite continues, like Neko Navy (though that’s where comparisons with that game end)

Hope you enjoy it dude!

Side note: this isn’t an easy or particularly accessible shmup in my opinion, which kinda flies in the face of what I’ve seen read about it. I find it tough even on the easiest mode and the bullet patterns a few stages in start getting quite fast and sporadic, from all angles and I keep ending up in impossible scenarios. Makes it fun to chip away at though!

It’s a good job I enjoy getting my arse handed to me by these games that’s for sure. Time for one more go before bed :)

Yes, I remember having this conversations about it during the time of the switch release - https://old.reddit.com/r/shmups/comment ... p/dvmhdfw/

I can't comment on the switch version, but long story short, spirit mode easy took me 14 hours to 1cc. Some of the boss patterns are pretty brutal. I don't consider it accessible by any means. The second game, yes, I can't speak for the console version, I don't know how much they retuned the easier difficulties, but on pc, it was being sold as a newbie friendly, accessible game when it really wasn't. The jump in difficulty from the second to the third game was a real shock.
