575: Life is Strange 2

Post by JaySevenZero »

Here's where you can contribute your thoughts and opinions for Life is Strange 2 for potential inclusion in the forthcoming podcast.

A friendly reminder that where the feedback for the podcast is concerned, we love it - but keeping it brief is appreciated. We do want to include a breadth of opinions where appropriate, but no-one wants a discussion podcast that’s mostly reading out essays. Better to save yourself time and cut to the chase if you can.

Life is Strange 2 taps into some very real anxieties over political and social radicalism, and it's going to be an interesting story to revisit both now, a few years after the release of the first episode, and in the future. I just wish the gameplay was also compelling enough to make it worth the trip. While there is some solid "choices matter" implementation here, leading to four substantially different endings, I never found the gameplay built around Daniel's powers to be particularly interesting. Plus, the tone of the story borders on misery porn, so it's a big ask to go through that again.

I'm looking forward to Leah's thoughts on the game, and I'm guessing Josh won't be on board for this one considering how much he despised the first Life is Strange!
