Text Adventures / Interactive Fiction

Post by Alex79 »

Anyone play much of these? I've always been a fan of the genre right from my days on my Amstrad (best home computer ever!) and used to like making them in GAC. I played all the classics back in the day, the LOTR games, the Infocom games etc, but wondered if anyone had any recommendations for something a bit more contemporary? I played though Andrew Plotkin's Spider And Web a few years back and loved it. The current crop of games seem to be split in to either your classic adventure type game with puzzles etc and another type which are literally as they sound, interactive fiction, forgoing all the puzzle elements completely. I'm not so interested in these, I prefer the puzzles/inventory based games of old.

Anyone still in to these?
