What's Out This Week?

Post by dezm0nd »

Even though my spending on the latest and greatest videogames has gone down over the years, I am still more than excited to see what's coming each and every Monday.

This week we have

South Park: The Stick of Truth - PC, Consoles.

Saw a bit of this being streamed and it made me chuckle a fair bit. Reviews go live on Tuesday.

Tower of Guns - PC

First Person Shooter roguelike designed to be played on your lunch break! It's good.

10 Second Ninja - PC

Meatboy-esque platformer about a Ninja who has to complete each level in 10 seconds. It's also good!

The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 2

Dead Nation - PS4 (PS+ freebie)

Live South Park, so I'm totally Day One-ing it. Walking Dead will be a must download obviously. As will Dead Nation, though I fear the size of that will likely take the piss, gb-wise.

Very tempted by Infamous, going through my trade in pile to see if I can drag the price down. Got a £4 amazon voucher that brings MGS Ground Zero to £19, so that'll do.

I have no interest in Pure Chess other than it's a brave game in doing cross-platform multiplayer! The 3DS and Wii U are slowly merging into one and the same and is definitely showing early signs (alongside dual platform Smash Bros) that Nintendo will probably just make one super console next time round?

Ah man, MGS is out this week for us? It'll have to wait... but I do want to play that game, especially on my shiny PS4 which isn't getting turned on much.

Strong week, MGS should be getting ready for posting somewhere out there so I'm excited about that and I'll wait on the reviews for infamous though it's looking impressive. Even Castlevania is tempting knowing it's the US version. Yaiba is the wildcard and I can't tell which way it'll go but the unreal engine quite often makes otherwise brilliant games on paper turn to shit so it'll be a rental if anything (scratch that: 2/10... jesus).

Yeah Yaiba is getting an absolute kicking, the combat sections sound very frustrating, and the "I love tits, me" tone is pretty tasteless.
However, all the reviews tearing into Spark's history really shouldn't be so harsh on Lost Planet 3. I completed it, and it's very much not a "5 out of 10" game.

Played a lot of D3 on 360 with Linda, but have the starter pack on PC also just for the hell of it. Great game and getting better all the time.

Wii U Virtual Console
Super Mario Kart (Nintendo, €7.99 / £5.49)
This is the US version of the game. £1.49 to upgrade from the Wii VC version I believe.

Purchase Super Mario Kart between 27/03/2014 and 30/06/2014 and receive a £5.49 / €7.99 discount off the Wii U eShop release of Mario Kart 8. Purchases of Super Mario Kart using the Virtual Console loyalty offer qualify, and Mario Kart 8 must be purchased between 30/05/2014 until 30/06/2014; both downloads must be made on the same Wii U system.

Mighty Bomb Jack (Tecmo, €4.99 / £3.49)
This is the US version of the game.

Ninja Gaiden (Tecmo, €4.99 / £3.49)
This is the US version of the game.

3DS eShop
Skater Cat (Teyon, €4.99 / £4.49)

3DS Virtual Console
Adventure Island II (Konami, €4.99 / £4.49)

3DS Retail Download
Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Nintendo, €44.99 / £39.99)

Really looking forward to Fez on PS4/Vita this week, loved it on XBLA but my 360 died before I finished it.

I think Strike Suit Zero Director's Cut is out this week on PS4/X1 too.

Oh cool. Strike Suit Zero has always looked interesting to me. Didn't know it was coming out so soon for consoles.

They posted on the PS Blog a couple of weeks ago saying March, so hopefully with this week being the last week of March we'll get it :)
