Good games tonight.
It would appear people have been practicing.
Looking forward to the next one.

Once again, we left the game with me laughing so much I have a headache.

Thanks again for everyone turning up! I hope you enjoyed me mixing it up with no CPU. Put the pressure on a bit. 🤭

February is a short month and with Elden Ring out on the day I was planning on organising another one I've decided to go with March 4th.

Thanks for organising, Dez, it was fun (even if I finished dead last in 90% of the races )

Honestly, I've never been a big fan of this Mario Kart, but playing it online with you guys really brought it to life and I really enjoyed it! Look forward to the next one!

I also believe Mario Kart 8 is much better when playing with friends even online.

Just knowing you lot are plotting to whip a shell at me or are also screaming at the TV puts a smile on my face and makes me eager to win!

That was a lot of fun!
Great way to spend an afternoon, Mario Kart on the tv and a snowstorm whirling out the window

Glad you enjoyed it. It was definitely more varied in terms of who was on top this time round! Plenty of madness was happening on screen.

The last course, rainbow Road had me in stitches as I saw Suits getting absolutely Karted off by the game.

Savage.

So much fun last night!

As Dez says, it felt a lot more competitive - I think we had four separate winners in five cups, not too shabby! Me and Joel (Kodama88) were in stitches on our voice chat on a lot of the races. Felt like I hit Dez with an unfair amount of items but also felt like I was getting pasted by SludgeWizard every other lap so it balanced out!

Never played with frantic items before: what's the difference, just more frequency?

Lots of fun again. Thanks all for playing.

I was definitely worse with frantic items.

Got passed on the line by a bullet train (well 2 of them) once.

Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed is my favourite single player kart racer, but Mario has the multiplayer nailed down.

Just means higher chance of offensive items rather than stuff like banana skin or squid etc I think.

Yeah a higher chance of offensive items really. I believe it just adds an extra layer for us who know what MK8 is all about.

I wouldn't put it on for the kids but for us it just makes it that touch more... frantic!

Sure am! The new (old/remastered?) tracks were the most exciting part of the Nintendo Direct for me

I am getting the expansion, but I wonder what happens if you're playing online and everyone else has it, but you don't. I wonder if a 'buy it now' prompt comes up if a new track is selected to play and you don't have it installed.
