Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Great news. Along with Isaac in a couple of weeks, it's actually looking quite decent. I also keep forgetting that we're getting a bona fide, years in the making, full fat Zelda next Friday, too!
Unfortunately, and this sounds terrible, but a mate who said he might be around that weekend has kind of invited himself to stay based on my open invitation a couple of months back. He's keen to come and see me for the last time before he has a baby, and before life changes forever. Is it cool to ask him to sit and watch me play Zelda all weekend? It's OK, it's rhetorical, but you know...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Not yet. He will either like them a lot more or a lot less in nine days time.
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
BotW is stylistically good to look at mind, so I'm sure he'll find it enjoyable.
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Good news, everyone!
SnipperClips and Fast RMX are both confirmed day one launch titles. More choice is better. Glad they managed to sort some eshop titles out.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Having played neither, I still reckon that Snipperclips will sell the local multiplayer better than 1-2 Switch. Did anyone watch the four player party/blitz mode stuff? Looks really good fun, kind of Smash Bros chaos, only I can understand what's happening!

If you've got a Sainsburys near you and want a cheap Wii U bargain, maybe swing by. My one was blatantly selling off the Wii U games this week and had Mario Smash tennis for £5, Captain Toad for £14 and loafs of the Legi games for under £10.
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Talk now that Amazon in the US is cancelling some preorders for the WiiU version of Breath of the Wild.
I do hope this isn't a repeat of what happened with the cube version of Twilight...

Man, I need Mario Smash Tennis.seansthomas wrote:If you've got a Sainsburys near you and want a cheap Wii U bargain, maybe swing by. My one was blatantly selling off the Wii U games this week and had Mario Smash tennis for £5, Captain Toad for £14 and loafs of the Legi games for under £10.
As thin as it is, for a Fiver I'll get it. I'll go looking tomorrow.
Regards BotW Wii U, I'm convinced that'll become a rare game to collect in time.

Sadly it had gone in mine, just the sale sign left. But for £5 I'd love to have owned that.Suits wrote:Man, I need Mario Smash Tennis.seansthomas wrote:If you've got a Sainsburys near you and want a cheap Wii U bargain, maybe swing by. They better not cancel my preorder. Placed it ages ago... Still, digital download day one if not.
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Shame I'm too poor to buy the Wii U version on Friday. Wish I'd bought Twilight Princess GC when I saw it cheap a few years after the Wii came out.

Given that you can still preorder it now in the UK we should be safe...Flabyo wrote:Talk now that Amazon in the US is cancelling some preorders for the WiiU version of Breath of the Wild.

Sent the wife down down today, alas nothing on offer. Didn't even have the adjusted price tags.seansthomas wrote:Sadly it had gone in mine, just the sale sign left. But for £5 I'd love to have owned that.
Must not have reached Essex yet.
She did pick me a Boo amiibo though .
I have been thinking about the memory capacity in the Switch though. With 32GB out of the box many have been having a panic about space and probably rightly so.
If you're a digital buyer, on launch day you'll be left with 18GB storage space remaining. That's assuming that you'll be playing Zelda : BotW. Which is a fair assumption I think.
These are some of the other Switch title game sizes;
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - 13.4GB
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 8GB
Puyo Puyo Tetris - 1.09GB
Disgaea 5 - 5.92GB
Snipperclips - 1.60GB
I Am Setsuna - 1.40GB
Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2 - 32GB
Nobunaga's Ambition - 5GB
Now, I'm a physical buyer so I should be OK but there will be some titles that I'll be picking up digitally as currently they are digital only - Snipperclips & Fast RMX for example. Now these are small pickings I know but it did get me thinking.
Eurogamer spotted that Amazon have some pretty decent items for offer, so I'm considering jumping on the wagon and future proofing.
64GB - £17.39

128GB - £37.19

200GB - £68.99

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
What do you guys think will happen to credit you have on the eshop? Reckon it'll transfer over or end with the system its on?
I have £7 on there on Wii U and I can't decide whether to just blow it on an old VC game or top it up and get Shovel Knight while its on sale. But it could leave me with a bunch of credit left over and a game on a system I may never get round to playing.
