I'd say yes, but only if you're gonna have a group of regular players you can team up with. This is definitely not a game that favours lone wolves.

If you play with friends and/or members of the C&R community I believe you will have fun. You may have to accept that until you've unlocked some better kit and learned the maps you're going to die a fair amount and have a poor K/D spread. However, even as a 'light use' player I find that Battlefield is much kinder to me than other online shooters. Intelligence and tactics are as important as twitch shooter skills, plus you can really contribute to squad and team success by being a support player. You can rack up big scores by healing and resupplying comrades - and they will love you for it - as well as capturing flags and rush points etc.

Yes you have to remember there is NO in game voice chat on the PC version. so the only way to communicate with people is a chat box, and if you swear in there on some servers, you get kicked and sometimes banned.

Obviously if your in with friends you use Teamspeak or skype so no one else can hear you but they dont like swearing on the chat box

Only valid reson for kicking a player is cause he forcefully puts his cock & balls repeatadly on your face after he shot you in it.

Heh, maybe if you spent less time writing that shit and more time shooting the enemy your K/D wouldn't be so crap!

Quality line Tom. I will be using that one in the future. Im always impressed with the variety in which swear words can be amalgamated together. You should hear Pete(ChunkyMonkey), you will think tourettes sufferers have it easy after you have listened to him.

I would dearly like to, and I fully intend to. Haven't even seen the new maps yet.

No voice chat on PC seems insane to me. I would have to squad up on skype with my buddies.

I'd back up what Jay said, get yourself in with some friendly people and you can get to the top of the scoreboard without even firing a bullet!
Plenty of the default will see you right and if you're in a group of people playing the objective, it won't take too long to get you some new fun gear.

What he said. Is there a GOTY edition coming out? Sure I've heard of one.

Thats just the premium edition mate. I guess its kinda sort of a GOTY edition except there are still two more DLC packs to come yet. Usually GOTY editions have all their DLC available included on disc at sale.

I thought I'd read they were releasing a premium version of game? I assumed it was game and premium all in one lump? No idea on price tho.
To echo the sentiments above tho this is def a game to be played with friends. It's tremendous fun and as Leon says you can play in a support role and be just as effective as those with a high kill rate. It doesn't take long to unlock fairly decent equipment either if you focus on one class to start with :)

The Premium Edition is released this week - it doesn't have any of the expansions on the actual disc as far as I'm aware, but allows the player to download them all (first three, then the last two as they are released) as the Premium membership is included in the box in way of a code.

Standard price of £40 (£39.99 Play.com) or less if you shop about - a pretty hefty and hard to beat package at that price if you ask me.

Yep, potentially hundreds (thousands?) of hours of gameplay there, even if you totally ignore the single & co-op portions of the game.

You be sorted on either console I reckon but the better C & R players are on the PS3!

Also, as you may have already gathered from this thread we get the map packs a week earlier too.
