*ahem!*
Excuse me squire, but I played the bejeezuz out of Halo Wars, loved it ( and its superbly animated cutscenes) and still to this day play it occasionally on my 360.
The music in this game didnt really impressed me at first but it has grown alot on me(as the game itself) this 2 tracks are my favorites they kinda show the feeling of the game in a way XD
Ghost in the Shell intro - Takkyū Ishino (PlayStation 1997)
I still have my copy of this game (which was quite dire unfortunately) but I really dug the soundtrack, so much so that I paid almost £30 to get it on import (oh, how those days before torrents used to cost us an arm and a leg!)
We know not everyone visits the Cane and Rinse homepage blog too often, electing instead to focus on podcast and/or forum.
So - prompted by our friend Mr Flabyo - I thought I'd draw attention to a weekly feature I've been doing as an extension to this thread for the past couple of months.
Music Monday features personal selections that sometimes relate to what I've been playing or podcasting about including:
This has got to be some of the best gaming music of all time. This track is just incredible, you'd think it was created for a film ! I've listened to the whole soundtrack & it seriously does put some Film soundtracks to shame. Give it a listen
Even after all these years this is still an earworm
And hearing this always puts me in a good mood
edit: Just thought I'd add that for anyone who uses Spotify, theres a playlist simply called "Video Game Music" by a user called derbonk, which currently has over 8700(!) tracks from a whole host of games. Heres the link anyway if anyone is interested http://open.spotify.com/user/derbonk/pl ... yPNKaFbUck
I may have been playing a unhealthy amount of FFXII in this holiday but it has been all worth it because I got to the best part of the game the encounter with none other than Gilgamesh! As it turned out I was really underleveled for the fight and only managed to defeat him casting reverse all the time while berserking half my party since all my recovery itens were spent and healers were dead,it was really lucky that my black mage had a reverse spell otherwise I dont see myself winning that fight, but enough of this here's one of the best tracks in Final Fantasy history worthy of it's greatest character!
