I dont think anyone thinks DS 2 is a bad game even it's worse critics agree it's better than 80% of the rest of AAA games out there it's more that's not as well put together as the previous games I think Mathewmathosis did a great critique ilustrating this that echos much of what I was thinking and even though Im not as down on the game as he is the points he brings up are very valide, worth a watch:

Yep. I agree entirely with that critique.

Still, I'm approaching 90 hrs on it.

In Dark Souls 1 I used a boss soul to make (I think it was called) Queelags fire sword. It was stupid awesome. What's the best sword I can make with boss souls in the second game? I'm level 116 or something with 36 strength and 32 dexterity. Currently using a fire sword + 10 and an Uchithingy lightning sword + 8. I just killed the double Dragonrider bosses in the castle, to give you an idea of where I'm at. Any ideas? Thanks!

hum... hard to tell I suppose the best sword would be Vendricks Ultra Greatsword for that you would have to trade his soul to Ornifex,Smelter Demon soul can be used fora pretty badass sword that's similar to Queelags fire sword too if I remember right.

Thanks I'll have a look at that. I've got a niggling feeling I cashed that soul in though >_< And I really don't fancy having to take on all those knights again at a higher level haha. I gave the Lost Sinners Sword a try but it's too slow. Queelags was still nice and quick, I'm sure. Shame they all seem to be ultra greatswords.

After loving DS2 and becoming a Souls convert, I've just started playing DS1. Already doing better than my previous 2011 attempt.

Awesome! I'm pretty much at end game in DS2 now, so anything to rinse a few more hours will be most welcome.

According to their Facebook page...
Check the chest in the basement of the Majula mansion today to find a special gift from the Dark Souls II team to celebrate the announcement of the LOST CROWNS DLC Trilogy.

Look again next week and keep an eye out for future gifts from the team to help with your future adventures in Drangleic!

Damn missed that.

Also, not really spoilers but is there any downside to killing that map guy in the basement of that house?

well I think doing that is classified as a sin so the more of that you have the more likely is a blue sentinel invading you with a blue eye orb but since there's barely anyone in this covenant I think it's free from harm and at worst you might get an invasion for a change!
