Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Ah, now that series was on the list early on, but at some stage got removed due to lack of interest.
I shall re-add them and see if the situation has changed.

How about Civilization franchise ? I think this is doable since a lot of things stayed same or at least similar between new installments.
Also Tales from the Borderlands is a must ! Though I get that not everyone needs/wants to play it right away and it could be somewhere in future when more people get it on some sales.

Good call, will add.
Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
I would absolutely love a HD repackaging of those games. And Soviet Strike on the PS1. Surprised it's never even been rumoured at any point. The closet I've found to those games was a PSN game that I forget the name of now, but you drove an armoured vehicle and occasionally helicopter around completing objectives and twin stick shooting things. Armoured something maybe? It was great anyway. I'd love to play the old ones again though with a touch up.Suits wrote:What about the Desert/Jungle/Soviet/Nuclear Strike series ??
I have big memories of playing them right through from Desert Strike on the Mega Drive to Nuclear Strike on the PS1.
They always seemed challenging to me, with some depth in the crew you could pick and the mission developments.

That's the one!
Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
If you're doing strike, don't forget 'Future Cop LAPD' on the PS1, that was a strike game too till they renamed it...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Aye, those have been suggested a few times so already on the list.
Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
this would be my podcast nirvana, prolly going to have to do this myself sometime
never going to happen, but three games I think where really ahead of their time was switchblade released on multiple formats probably best on amiga? but always been tempted to buy a gx4000 just to play that version
and zombi also on speccy amiga st and others
and myth-history in the making, on the spectrum was damn amazing for the time graphically brilliant with some awesome level design
just don't see much love for any of these games but I feel they where ground-breaking at their release

Switchblade I loved. I had it on my old Amstrad CPC464, I remember being blown away by the graphics and smooth animation at the time.
Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Hi guys!
First off, awesome podcast series, both Cane & Rinse, and Sound of Play.
Secondly, my suggestions for the podcast are as follows:
G - Police & G - Police 2
Wipeout series
Panzer Dragoon series
Colony Wars series
Probotector/Contra etc
Star Wars Starfighter/Jedi Starfighter
Death Tank (lol)
Apologies if any of these have been mentioned before.
As a massive Panzer Dragoon fan, I'd love to hear what you guy's thought/think of the game's, especially Saga.
As my first Rpg experience, it had a huge impact on me and my view of gaming in general.
Cheers!

Hello there Omegapoo!
Pretty much all those you mention are already among the 1300 or so games on our long list!
I'm a big Panzer Dragoon fan so that's a series I'd definitely like to do, but it's a tricky one to cover for various reasons.

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
No, sorry - the long list is a massive Google docs spreadsheet accessible only by the team and select guests. We like to keep the element of surprise on our side!
