Next game night for Splatoon 2 is Saturday 5th August, 9PM BST.

I'll be hosting a game of Splatoon 2 using the "Private Lobby" button on the multiplayer menu. The passcode will be 0007.

With Mario Kart 8 you can join after they start provided there's room available! I'm not so sure with Splatoon 2 as they were late patching it into the first game and I never got round to it.

Just give us a message on Twitter if you can't get in (because we're playing) and i'll let you know what's happening to get you involved.

With Splatoon 2 it's not going to work how the first game did anyway, it seems to lobby set up and invites will be done via the phone app.

There might be a way to do it without that (I'd be surprised if there isn't) but they do seem to want people to use the app.

There's every chance this could be more popular than one lobbies worth of players. If so, I'd suggest sharing fellow forum members' friend codes for 2nd lobby fun times.

Also voice chat. What's the best option? I'd probably say Discord?

I checked out the "Private Lobby" menu option last night and it's quite easy to set up as you'd hope. There will be a password and it will be 0007. I'll put that in the original post, too.

I'll definitely try to get in on this one. Felt bad for missing the Mario Kart games, so there's no way I'll let this slip me by as well.

EDIT: Just realised this clashes with Splatfest somewhat. Oh well, time for both I suppose.
