Re: What's Out This Week?
I want Rage 2, since I actually liked Rage 1 more than I thought I would, but I need make sure my PC can run the thing on a decent level first!
I'm hoping the game is "Rage but better" and not just different type of FPS with the name Rage slapped on it.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Rage 2 ain't doing so hot in reviews. It's got a 73 on Metacritic (4.4 user score), and a 62% positive "Mixed" score on Steam.
There appears to be *some* review bombing because it has Denuvo or something, but there's also plenty of reviews complaining it's plagued with bugs and kind of boring, even when it works.
I'd definitely wait for the inevitable sale... WTF is going on with Bethesda these days?

I’m not sure if I missed something but Fallout 76 aside I think Bethesda have been relatively consistent.
Although aggregate scores aren’t stellar some of the Rage 2 reviews have been individually favourable like the IGN review. I wouldnt write them off just yet.

73% isn't bad by any means!Magical_Isopod wrote: ↑May 14th, 2019, 9:39 am Rage 2 ain't doing so hot in reviews. It's got a 73 on Metacritic (4.4 user score), and a 62% positive "Mixed" score on Steam.

Fallout 4 was also garbage, unless you like the building stuff mode. The Elder Scrolls mobile game was trash. Fallout Shelter had exploitative microtransactions. The Elder Scrolls tabletop game literally copy/pasted a D&D campaign and changed a few words. Wolfenstein 2 had tons of issues at launch including balancing issues with the difficulty settings.Simonsloth wrote: ↑May 14th, 2019, 10:14 am I’m not sure if I missed something but Fallout 76 aside I think Bethesda have been relatively consistent.

It's not just Fallout 76.

Possible a slightly harsh assessment of Bethesda maybe?Magical_Isopod wrote: ↑May 14th, 2019, 11:20 amFallout 4 was also garbage, unless you like the building stuff mode. It's not just Fallout 76.
Average review scores and player sentiment towards franchises such as Fallout, Doom, Elder Scrolls, Prey, Dishonored, Evil Within, even Rage, are no less than good in general, and significantly more positive than that in some cases. I'd argue in the spectrum of publishers the Bethesda quality bar is consistently one of the highest, and a quick glance at Metacritic would bear that out. Not the definitive yardstick by any stretch but a yardstick all the same.
Fallout 76 was a huge fumble, handled terribly. But the table top game will have very little to do with the video game division, Fallout Shelter is free-to-play mobile game designed for micro-transactions, and Wolf 2 is a very highly rated game that I'm not sure can be placed in any 'Video Game Disasters' list.
Not saying Bethesda are perfect, but perhaps not quite that bad Mr Isopod!
Just offering a more 'glass half full' perspective

Slay the Spire PS4??!!
There goes next week
Everybody’s Golf PSVR... bound to be an upgrade option if you already have it, though running around that stupid island in VR might be too much to take.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Team Sonic Racing is getting some glowing reviews, and is only £29.99 full price.
Very tempted...

Re: What's Out This Week?
I kinda like the new direction and I'm very fond of Transformed. I suspect this one will have a wider appeal by focusing on Sonic. As good as the previous games were and a love letter to Sega, having nothing but Sonic and friends will catch their targeted audience more
Re: What's Out This Week?
It does look good, but there's Crash racing out soonish as well isn't there? I've heard a lot of people lately saying how bad Crash Team Racing was on PS1, but that's just not true. It was a really good game.
Re: What's Out This Week?
I’d like resi 4 on switch, but the price is outrageous so I’ll wait.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Both previous Sonic racing games were RRP £35-£45 at launch. So in effect this one is cheaper, if you factor inflation.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Ok, console prices at retail then. But the previous games came out in, what, 2008 and 2012?
£35 when many new games are around £50 seems fairly reasonable to me. But yeah, you’ll be able to get it nicely discounted soon enough no doubt.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Also Team Sonic Racing is hovering just over £26 on a few game seller websites.

Re: What's Out This Week?
How do you do that again? I've completely forgot, last time I did it was for sonic mania.

@chase
Change your region at:
https://accounts.nintendo.com/
Log back in with your password, use your UK debit card or credit card info. I leave mine on South Africa (ZAF) because that's cheapest 90% of the time.
To check the best price for eShop games, I use:
https://eshop-prices.com/?currency=GBP
You can easily change your region for anything PAL. Japan and USA require a bit more work (separate account is easiest). Mexico is a no-go, to be honest, though it's often cheapest.
I've used a variety of eShops and not been taken hostage or had to rescue my family from an underground bunker or whatever yet.
