Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
There's my go on Big Forest so far, on Normal - been hammering it and tried Arcade steering but I actually took a couple of seconds off my time by using the digital steering... Was able to get round more corners with less accelerator feathering. Will post more times but this is the only track I've really gone at so far!
Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
Nice - what's the difference between the two steering methods then?

Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
So with Normal it's digital steering, so a tap of the analogue stick the car will steer full lock immediately. With Arcade, it's analogue. I had read recommendations to switch to Arcade, so I did that when I first loaded up the game, but I find I have to take my foot off the gas on corners more with that method. It could be that I use rubber thumbgrips on the joycon analogues stopping it go all the way? I haven't noticed anything like that on other games though. Either way, switching back to Normal is working for me quite well. It's also the default method, so if you haven't changed it, you've got digital steering

This ones for Suits
Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
Pretty irrelevant now but this is what I managed last night.
Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
I'm not coming close to that. I'm about 3 seconds behind. Thing is I can do the whole track only lifting off the gas for a split second on that last bend in to the home straight, and I can't find a way of dropping below 3:18!

Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
Got 3:14:15 last night on Big Forest - then went back to medium and expert tracks and have hit a wall. Can’t better 3rd on Bay Hill or 2nd on Acropolis. Absolutely solid!
Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
Bit annoyed after I checked the replay of the world rank #1 on Big Forest. Have a look yourself and you'll see what I mean...
Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
Yeah, you can clip the final long right hander over the grass can’t you.

We’d all be 10 seconds faster otherwise .

Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
I can finally access the Community Gaming forum, so here’s what I’ve got, default settings:
Big Forest - 3:14.43
Bay Bridge - 3:16.09
Acropolis - 4:16.93
Most of my time was spent trying to come first on Bay Bridge, hence the decent time there, though I don’t think that was my first place run. I know I can go way faster on Big Forest but need to put some more time in to get back up to standard. Coming first on Acropolis was enough for me, and I’ve got no great desire to improve my time there - again, first place here wasn’t my best time.

Ah, funnily enough I played this for the first time in months the other day. Wouldn't mind getting back in to it, I'll have a bash later. It's just a crying shame there are no friends leaderboards on the game.
That's a great time on Big Forest, my quickest is 2 seconds slower at least. I still haven't managed to beat the third track.

Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
Winning on the last track was a bit of an anticlimax. I thought I was in second as usual and only noticed on the last corner I wasn’t, so there was no thrill of overtaking the leader for the first time or trying to hang on for the win, which nearly gave me a heart attack when I won the second track for the first time.

Bay Bridge - 3:15.03
Can't get beyond 2nd! The lead car is just right there in front of me the whole final lap, and then the last few turns he just seems that bit quicker than me.
I've tried so many times at this point that I'm starting to go a little bit loopy

Re: SEGA AGES Virtua Racing
Great times. The lead car span in front of me on the hard right after the road closure on the last lap the time I won it. Not sure what the circumstance was that triggered it but took me 20 hours + so you might need to keep going!seansthomas wrote: ↑May 24th, 2020, 8:50 amSame here! 10 hours I've played this now, largely all that time on that track, and still not bettered second.Sinclair Gregstrum wrote: ↑April 15th, 2020, 5:27 pm Bay Bridge - 3:15.03
