Nick is doing a very good job at convincing everyone to give it a whirl. I think I’m sold too.

Next thing you know we will all be buying Tom Nook cuddly toys and sleeping with Isabelle bedspreads.

Well up for the new animal crossing. I am ready and able to trade with each and everyone of you unless you got trash items then gtfo.

Has anyone played Rocket League on Switch? How is it in handheld? It's only £7.50 at the moment. I already have it on PS4 so it really would be handheld only I'm interested in.

I've tried to do a bit of research and a lot of high skill players say its OK but they wouldn't use it to actually practice properly on. My skill level is low to medium low, so it would just be playing for fun. I know its been patched and doesn't look as rough as it did at launch.

Wondered if anyone had experience of this particular version?

I've played it on several formats and it's absolutely fine. On release it was a bit ropey but it's much improved now. It's the version I've played most despite buying it last. The only genuine potential issue is that the triggers aren't analogue but I'm very basic tier so it's the least of my troubles. For that price, it's a winner.

Excellent, thanks! My playing style is very much ON OR OFF for the gas pedal anyway, haha.

Random trivia: most pro level rocket players are playing on the pc, but use a joypad to play (usually the XBO one). Mouse and keyboard is considered less flexible.

That doesn't surprise me, I can't imagine it's much fun trying to play with M&K!

EDIT: Remind me of another random fact I heard once. When I was big in to Counterstrike on PC and played in a clan someone told me that a lot of the pro players used trackballs rather than a mouse.

Yeah I got it, having fun with it so far. I think its going to take a little getting used to, because I don't know why but I keep totally misjudging the ball and flying past it! Never used to do that on PS4, but I can't remember if I changed any camera settings, I'll have to have a look.

Right I think Rocket League is back on the agenda. Fired it up as a pallet cleanser after Luigi’s Mansion and Rolling Gunner, scored a couple of goals and won! Just the one game but it’s got the appetite back. Alex I saw you on but it wouldn’t let me play for a while due to needing a massive update. Hope to join you soon!

Cool yeah that would be good haze. I made a bit of a mistake getting it on Switch really. I wanted to start Celeste and Blasphemous, but every time I pick up my Switch all I'm doing is firing up Rocket League haha! (If you see anyone on Mario during the day, that's always the kids by the way).

I'm game. I've put 85 hours into it on Switch and have still never hit an aerial ball!

Let's do it! Wish there was a messaging system on the Switch.

I keep checking whenever I'm on to see if anyone else is playing. It appears to be fairly simple to party up if we do happen to all be on at the same time.

Excellent!

In other news...

I've replaced the analogue stick in my left joycon. It wasn't drift, it just felt awful. Clicky and imprecise. The new one feels great and the process wasn't too bad, with relatively simple steps and just a steady hand required.

If anyone is interested, I used this video for instructions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJLOjlYsCCY

..and this is the set I got from Amazon for under a tenner (two sticks included) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07 ... UTF8&psc=1

Nice work. Was it you who replaced the latches too? I meant to order myself some when I got paid and forgot!

It was! That’s what gave me confidence to try the analogue replacement, as I’ve already been in there poking about :)
