Sounds like there's a demo out this week on the store, I already had this marked as the 2nd highest priority release for 2013 (just on the tail of GTAV) but can't wait to get my hands on the demo.

Anybody seeking to play it a little earlier should really make a US account if you haven't already (Beverley Hills 90210 for those struggling with a zip code :)).

Wow, of ever the was a demo I wouldn't want to play it would be a JRPG. It should just be a visual treat only and fly around some beautiful locales.

That's probably the case for most people but for some reason my best memories from the psone era are some of the jrpg demo discs and one of the few times I've put the effort in to hook my 360 up to live was for the Tales of Vesperia demo.

It is all about the visuals though and level 5 usually do a good job so I'm pretty excited to see what the demo brings.

Since it's a level 5 game I'm surprised a Wii U version isn't on the cards yet.

Hate to say it but if you were already set on getting this then avoid this demo at all costs (or at least mash the skip button to avoid each scenarios introduction text).

For a hefty 2.6gig demo it replaces what will no doubt be impressive introduction cutscenes with just a few slideshow pictures with accompanying text (full of likely spoilers). The demo itself looks well crafted but coming out of my first 2 hours on Okami HD to this meant I could only appreciate the animation of the in-game models, the resolution was pretty jarring! I'm not sure how they wormed their way into my time with the demo but I had a few flashbacks to White Knight Chronicles while playing which is never good.

I'm still hyped for the full release and pretty inclined to call this a bad demo.

I'd call it a bloody terrible demo.

This was not unexpected, as others have said these games do not lend themselves to a good representation through the demo form. However, I sincerely hope the final retail version has had some real time spent in quality control because the volume of spelling mistakes in the demo's text dialogue are pretty fucking disgraceful, even for a demo.

The localisation on DQVIII was tremendous, so it would be a real pity if that weren't the case with NNK.

Definitely interested in this. I love the art style. It kind of reminds me of the Tales Of... games a bit.

My Wizard's Edition has been dispatched. I wouldn't (and probably shouldn't) except for the fact that the Wizard's Companion sounds fascinating. And who can say 'no' to a book full of art by the fine folks at Studio Ghibli? :)

Looking forward to this immensely. The only reservation I have is that the random encounters could become frustrating very quickly.

Cancelled my pre order due to me realizing I don't really enjoy the JRPG genre. It's a bit harsh but paying 40 quid for a game I'm not sure about is a bit silly.

There's so many other games out around now that I feel that money would be better spent elsewhere. Weird, because I rebought another ps3 for it. Ah well.

I have enjoyed it in the past but very rarely. So happy that they have seemingly made a good one as Square seem to be incapable these days.

Enjoy!

I've played so few JRPGs that I have no real attachment to that aspect of Ni No Kuni. Studio Ghibli's involvement is all the impetus I needed though.

Here's hoping I enjoy the mechanical side as much as the narrative and art.

I love the mechanical side. The combat is really fun and chaotic once your party is built up enough. I'm about 15 hours in and this game has been an utter delight so far.

Had Ni No Kuni on within 15 minutes of waking up. Safe to say it has its hooks in, then. It's reminding me of Dragon Quest VIII at this point, which is very welcome indeed.

I like how the combat forces you to respond quickly to enemies charging up different moves. Do I try to interrupt them, switch familiars, defend? Enjoying being kept on my toes so far.

Well this game is everything I hoped it would be. Just such a beautiful world to play in. The whole game feels very polished with hardly any loading times which helps the game flow along very nicely indeed.

Decided to play on easy to reduce grinding and battle frustration so I can just enjoy the whole thing a bit more.
