Mass Effect 3 - Operation: Lodestar

Post by BasementShaxx »

The last ever Mass Effect 3 multiplayer event is currently running and ends on Sunday 10th. I intend to play a fair bit of this over the weekend, is anyone else interested?

Mission brief from the Mass Effect 3 blog:

N7 unit actions will pave the way for resistance and conventional forces trying to retake the population centers of our homeworlds. There is no retreat. When an objective is finished or a target destroyed, you will immediately focus on the next. Our assets will provide cover to network ships that will update your targets in real-time. Rally points are at your disposal in the event that all space assets meet with catastrophic casualties. From there, you will fight as your CO sees fit or until further orders arrive.

I'm that much of a grumpy git over the multiplayer being in Mass Effect 3 I've still not tried it.

I've heard it's good but with Battlefield 3 my multiplayer hit lies elsewhere

It's very different to Battlefield in that it's more of a horde mode, but it is super fun and the combat feels really solid. If you were ever going to check it out I'd recommend doing so while this event is on as the player pool will be really big.

Yeah I heard that, how does it hold up against Gears 3 horde?

It's not quite as fun but it's the best non-Gears horde mode I've played. Its doesn't have the same variation of enemies or crazy weapons like the mortar, but the different classes and powers make up for that.
