Here's the latest episode of our weekly podcast dedicated to videogame music – Sound of Play

For many of us, it’s hard to think of almost any videogame without our minds conjuring up the music that accompanied it. What we aim to bring you with Sound of Play is a diverse sample of our favourite pieces from the many air-punching, spine-tingling, tear-jerking and grin-inducing videogame soundtracks we’ve heard over the years. Of course it’s not just about what we like, so if you venture over to our forum at caneandrinse.com you can put forward your favourites and we’ll start to include a selection in the playlist for each show.

This show’s presenters were: Leon Cox and Maya Santandrea

with community contributions from Benderson, Colin Alonso, krakken unleashed and Jmalmis

Track listing for this show is as follows:

Track 1: Metal Man by Takashi Tateishi (performed by Bit Brigade) - Mega Man 2, 1988
Track 2: Conquering the World by Hitoshi Sakimoto - Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter, 2002
Track 3: 25.3°N 91.7°E by Chris Christodoulou - Risk of Rain, 2013
Track 4: Flock Step by Tsunku - Minna no Rhythm Tengoku, 2011
Track 5: Lewanda’s Love by John Baker - Toejam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, 1993
Track 6: The Lunar Sanctum by Yuzo Koshiro/Takahiro Nishi - Kid Icarus: Uprising, 2012
Track 7: It’s Raining Somewhere Else by Toby Fox - Undertale, 2015
Track 8: Pepper Steak by Alias Conrad Coldwood - OFF, 2007/8

Apologies for the Skype audio glitches on this one, folks - partly my fault, partly just one of those things.
